11.01.2022 Kingborough Council and The JOHN STREEET MEDICAL CENTRE. Ladies and Gentlemen Many of you reading this post, would have your health needs catered for by Dr Martin Ward and his team of GP's at the John Street Medical Centre. You may be unaware that the future of this traditional family medical pratice is in jeopardy due to the inconsiderate actions of Kingborough Council. Why you might ask.. Put simply, Councils current plans are to remove or make inaccessible all the current ...patient car parking spaces as part of the High school development and re alignment of John Street. The medical practice has offered to purchase a piece of land (at full market value) at the rear of the medical practice so as to provide some patient car parking. That however has been rejected by Council as being " not in the long term interest of Kingborough residents" It would appear that the Mayor and Councillors are being led by the nose by senior management when it comes to the redevelopment of the high school site, the loss however of a fantastic family medical pracrice that treats thousands of local residents is beyond comprehension. Please, if you have a concern contact our Councillors immediately, the issue is apparantly an agenda item at next weeks Council meeting on Tuesday 12th March. FYI, an email to "Councillors" can be addressed to: [email protected] Please as a community let us do all we can to save this Medical practice, an irreplaceable community asset. Roger Tonge

05.01.2022 John Street Medical Centre The good news today is that Council has worked co cooperatively with the owners of the Medical Centre to find an acceptable resolution in relation to car parking which will see the Medical Centre continue to provide GP services to some 5000 Kingborough residents, many of them living in Kingston Beach well into the future. Well done and Thank you to Mayor Dean Winter and council management for recognising the communities need and resolving this concerning issue.

01.01.2022 One of our residents has sent the following message. Please message the association if you can help! Hey! I was walking my dogs last night and had lost my wallet along the beach. I started walking on the sand opposite the corner shop then walked to the dog beach where the river meets. From there I walked back to where I started but walked in the path instead of the sand.
