13.01.2022 Greg McLeod Funeral Details: To all our Kingston Hawthorn Cricket Club family, past and present. The funeral of Club Legend Greg McLeod will be held this Wednesday afternoon at 1pm. For those able to attend and pay their respects to Greg, at 1:30pm we are calling on any past & present players/officials/friends of Greg that have any Hawks or past club colours available to be in attendance to stand around the ground as the hearse makes its way around the ground after the funer...al service. 10.01.2022 A Word from Marshy: "It’s Arrived finally! Got through Winter, Covid, AFL in hubs and Lockdown. ... Round 1 is upon us and Casey South Melbourne here we come Our preparation has been great, Commitment from the group has been excellent and with so many changes, players have adapted brilliantly and must remain flexible and able to adjust to challenging moments. Our practice match form has been impressive, however now the real task is here, and the game will go up a few levels. Some outstanding team and individual efforts again over the weekend. Big Visura Fernando and Simo Ivetic in the 2’s whacking them backed up by the team in the field led by Zack Richardson and Lyle D’Rozario the standouts. Game went down to the final over. Great hit out for the boys. Skippers innings in the 3’s by Turtle (Jake Marnie) and newcomer Kurt Heigl aka Jonny B, putting on a 100-run partnership. Raji Samarasekara claiming 3/16 allowed the 3’s to score a convincing win out the back at Greenvale. Jonty’s (John T Noonan) team scoring a win with Polk’s (Tom Polkinghorn) the best of the batters with 38. 1’s at Greenvale were not satisfied with 191, Niv(Nivin Sathyajith) 55 the only one to get going in all honesty was our mainstay. Boys took on a quiet word from the old foss and blasted Greenvale off the park dismissing them for 68. Last 5 wickets fell for 2 runs. All the bowlers chimed in with RG, Niv and Abi the multi wicket takers. JT (Joel Lewis) impressive with 5 victims behind the sticks, made Tim Paine look an amateur. The boys will hit the training track hard this Tuesday & Thursday evening in preparation for their Round 1 clash against Casey South Melbourne this Saturday. For our Supporters, Dinner in rooms $8 per head and bar open. Team Announcements & Captains to be announced to all supporters this Thursday.
