24.01.2022 You might have seen Edna and a fantastic team of Kingborough Helping Hands selling Christmas raffle in local shopping centres recently. The fund raised by their Christmas raffle will be used to help people in our community who needs a bit of help to celebrate Christmas, and they have been running this Christmas charity for so many years. Please support this wonderful cause makes difference to our community. Raffle tickets are available for sales at KNH until tomorrow 12 pm. Fabulous prizes will be drawn on Friday 27 November. Good luck winning the prize, everyone!
22.01.2022 Lots of people live with dementia in our community, some in residential aged care homes, some in their own home and some with family. How do you feel about communicating with people with dementia? Do you know what it is? Have you heard of Alzheimer’s Disease? Perhaps a loved one lives with dementia? Dementia Friendly Tasmania, a not-for-profit association with the purpose of increasing awareness, invites you to fill in the survey to give feedback about dementia friendly commu...nity. Survey forms are available at KNH, and the survey dropbox will be placed at the Civic Centre and the Kingborough Sports Centre to accept completed survey until December 11. The session will explain the hows and whys of conducting doctors appointments by internet and phone. The session is held on Friday 20th November from 10am until about 11.30 at the Middleton Room at the Kingborough Community Hub. The Doing Nothing Does Harm campaign aims to motivate bystanders to do something when they see or hear disrespect towards women. Violence against women begins with disrespect. This is a national problem, deep in our culture and society. By challenging disrespect towards women, we can c...hange this culture and ultimately prevent violence against women. 04.01.2022 Multicultural Council of Tasmania is running free information sessions across on Australia’s system of government at Kingborough Community Hub on Tuesday, 24 November at 10:30am. The aim is to help you get what you want from government. The information sessions will be in plain English and go for 90 minutes.The sessions will help those in our multicultural community who simply want to better understand government.
