24.01.2022 Today's the day people - all systems go! For those of you hearing the rumours around town that the fireworks aren't happening they are FALSE - I have just spoken to the fireworks guys and they are definitely coming. The weather is passing by and we will see you all tonight. Don't forget to have your parade entries to the Apex park by 6pm for judging before the start at 6:30 see you there. Happy Christmas everyone!!
23.01.2022 Council have approved a temporary road closure for the Kingston Mayoral Christmas Parade on Friday, 11 December 2020. The temporary road closure will apply to the following roads: Portion of Agnes Street from the intersection of East Terrace to the intersection of Holland Street be closed from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Portion of Holland Street from the intersection of Hanson Street and Cooke Street to the intersection of Agnes Street be closed from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.... Hanson Street from the intersection of Holland Street and Cooke Street to the eastern boundary of the Lions Park to be closed from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Portion of Marine Parade (being one lane only) from the intersection of Hanson Street travelling in the northerly direction to the Lions Park car park to be closed from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. All vehicles other than emergency, official and pageant vehicles and foot traffic shall be excluded from the designated area during the road closure.
23.01.2022 We have heard from the Elves that Father Christmas will be busy on Friday Night after the Parade and unfortunately won’t be able to join us in the Park. He did promise to make it up to us, by coming back to Kingston at another time. Come and meet Santa, tell him what you would like for Christmas, and get your photo taken in front of the Christmas Tree at the Council office from 14-23 December 2020, between 10am and 12pm daily (excluding weekends). Bookings are essential. Please contact Council on 8767 2033 to book your 10 minute visit.
22.01.2022 While float entered are coming together, and over 640 have registered for the evening. We need volunteers to be covid marshals otherwise the wait lines to get into the park will be long. Please if you can spare an hour to help out at sometime during the evening and have done or can do the training please contact the council office on Monday to offer your assistance. Thank you

A ticket is only required if you intend on attending the Family Evening in the Lions Park. If you have family or neighbours who are not on Facebook but know would like to attend, let them know they will need to obtain a ticket.... Please ensure you indicate the number of people attending, including children. 15.01.2022 In order for this wonderful event to happen in a COVID-Safe environment, we need your help. We are looking for community members to volunteer as COVID Marshals in the Lions Park. Without Marshals this event cannot proceed. If you can assist by donating an hour of your time and have completed or are willing to complete the relevant training, please give the Council office a call on 8767 2033.
15.01.2022 PARADE DAY Today is the day! Here are some details for this evening in case you missed them: - Christmas Parade commences from 6.30pm. You DO NOT need a ticket to watch the parade on the street. Only wrapped lollies can be thrown during the Parade. You DO need a ticket to enter the Family Evening in the Lions Park.... To enter the Park, please present your tickets at the entry points shown on the map. All attendees will be required to complete a COVID Safe Check In upon entry to the Park. Fireworks from 9:15pm. Please secure your beloved pets. Father Christmas will not be at the Park this year. Please be patient with us as we try to get everyone into the Park in a safe and quick manner. Please be respectful to COVID Marshals. We understand that things are a little different and we thank you in advance for your cooperation. After what has been a very challenging year, we look forward to celebrating Christmas as a community!

If you purchased extra tickets that you don’t require, please drop them into the Council office so that they can be reallocated to community members that may have missed out. Please call the Council office on 8767 2033, to be added to a waiting list, if tickets become available. ... Remember: tickets are not required to watch the Christmas Parade from the street. 10.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Last night the tourism group met and the Pageant is going ahead. The weather looks like it will be mostly past by then and lets face it we have had wet, windy nights in the past and its still worked. SO bring your coats and winter woollies and we will imagine we are in the northern hemisphere and enjoy the night together as always.

Lobster trail registrations (if you are a business or group wanting to be a stop on the trail) are due today and parade entries must be registered this year too. 05.01.2022 Great to see everyone out last night. Another great evening - the weather was good to us and it seemed that everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you once again to all the sponsors for making this event possible. To the community groups who provide the food, great job. Thank you! And too all the people who willing help bring this night together and set up, participate in the parade, be Lobster trail stops, man stalls, or help pack up it’s a big community effort that makes my job much easier- Thank you too!The fireworks were again a special part of the evening and a fantastic way to celebrate the beginning of summer holidays and Christmas together as a community.
