24.01.2022 Perth's creative artists are one of our greatest strengths, just like contemporary dance company Co3 Australia who I was lucky enough to visit this week at the ...King Street Arts Centre. The City of Perth needs to do more to support our local talent so they can thrive. Under my leadership, our City's identity will be played out by artists on our streets. Inspired by the success of the Fringe and Perth Festivals, I will: - Support a year-round program of events to give our City soul. - Revamp and re-prioritise City funding to underwrite street performance and activation on the streets of Perth to a world-class scale. - Establish "The Lord Mayor’s Ministry for Sound & Sight" which will pull together local arts and music experts to curate our performance and musical calendar.

23.01.2022 As you may be aware, on Friday, 29 May 2020, The Western Australian Government announced a plan to further ease COVID-19 restrictions in Western Australia. We are pleased to announce that KSAC will re-open on Monday, 8 June 2020!... The bookings for regular users will be open on Wednesday the 17th of June.

20.01.2022 Ngalaka Bininku ("Our Generation") was a private performance held on Friday which showcased the work of our 2020 Ngalaka Daa Ensemble! It was based on three tim...ely speeches at the UN by prominent youth activists Greta Thunberg, Xuithezcatl Martinez and Dujuan Hassan (from Arrernte/Garrwa country), and directed and translated into Noongar language by Della Rae Morrision. The Ngalaka Daa Ensemble is a collaboration between Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company and WA Youth Theatre Company. In it's inaugural year, the Ensemble is made up of returning artists from Yirra Yaakin's Junior Sonneteers Program and emerging artists at WAYTCo. While creating opportunities for young people to learn Noongar language and theatre performance skills, the Ngalaka Daa Ensemble is an avenue to ensure the sustainability of one of the oldest languages on the planet. 20.01.2022 WOW what a start! So good to see people at the Art Centre again! Thank you to everyone that chose KSAC as their venue of choice in the last few weeks. As you may be aware the Western Australian Government will further ease COVID-19 restrictions.... The new tentative date for Phase 5 will now be Saturday, 1 August 2020. This would also see the removal of WA’s 2 square metre rule and the 50 per cent capacity. We are pleased to announce that the automatic doors of the King St Art Centre will be re instated as of Phase 5 restrictions. See you here soon!

15.01.2022 The Bird Makers Project is coming to an end! As the birds begin to fly to the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia, we're asking for a few hands on deck to... help finesse our flock. We have two quality control workshops taking place this month, Thursday 22 & 29 October from 10 - 4 in the Small Meeting Room of King Street Arts Centre. We need your help to finish the gorgeous birds that have made their journey, but just need a bit of stitching here and there.
