21.01.2022 WHAT ARE THE BEST SOURCES OF PROTEIN? First it is important to know that we have fast absorbing and slow release proteins, also plant based and animal based protein products, so we have something for everyone. Fast absorbing proteins such as whey or plant based proteins are good for before and after workouts to give a quickly digestible source of fuel for our muscles. Next is our slow release and this is what we have in our meals and snacks before and after workouts: - Ani...mal based: fish, poultry, eggs, beef, lamb, pork, duck, dairy - Plant based: beans, soy, legumes, lentils, kidney beans, chickpeas, quinoa, oats, nuts etc - You want to have about 30 grams per meal of protein, that is about a palm size worth of the protein source Do you get enough protein in your diet? 10.01.2022 Habits come from being consistent, it doesn’t come from being perfect. When you identify that something in your life is lacking a bit such as your skincare routine, how much your moving each day, or what you are eating, it will take some time for you to adapt to this new routine. A lot of us try new a routine or new habit and beat ourselves up when we slip up one day or forget for 3, what is key is to keep coming back and keep trying again and again until you get it, because... you will get it and it will feel amazing once you have established something into your lifestyle that plays a part in achieving one of your goals. Here are my tips for creating new habits: 1. Identify barriers and learn how to combat them. One of the biggest barriers is your ego, but remember your ego is not you, they are there trying to protect you from stress or harm but it is these challenges that help us get stronger 2. Practice - remember that sometimes we will slip up and that is ok, one slip up will not break the bank but being guilty about our one slip has the potential for us to stop all together and that is what breaks the bank 3. Consistency - you will get there with consistency, the more you keep coming back and try to achieve that goal is what will get you there, consistency not perfection 4. Remember why you are doing this - that will help you get through those tough days. Why are you creating this change, what will it do for you, or for your family, or for your lifestyle, how you feel about yourself, the change is limitless but you need to let it happen! :) See more

Here is a quick workout you can do at home... complete as many reps as you can in 20 mins: 10 push ups 15 squats 20 push-ups ... 1 run around the block Enjoy this one by yourself or with that special someone.
