22.01.2022 Christmas is just around the corner so if you are buying presents from Rebel Sport, please head to the Innaloo store and register your name to be added to KLAC's Community Kickback Program. It's a simple way to help the Centre because when you make a purchase on any of their products at the Innaloo store and register with rebel, they will provide a 5% kickback to the Centre! Funds raised are use to assist the Centre with equipment as well as items to be used in PCH fundraising raffles. Every little bit helps!

21.01.2022 Dear Kingsway LAC members, On the 18th March, Little Athletics Australia advised all Centres across the country that organised activities at Centres should be suspended immediately due to the evolving situation of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Their advice was that it was still appropriate for Centre administration to proceed with essential processes such as reporting and end of season governance obligations. The Kingsway LAC Committee put in place provisions to continue with our ...AGM in line with all safety precautions outlined by the Australian government, including providing extra distances between attendees, no physical contact, providing hand sanitiser and disinfecting surfaces etc. As everyone is aware, unfortunately COVID-19 is a rapidly changing situation with changes to guidelines occurring frequently. Accordingly, inline with the most recent government directions that everyone in the community minimise all unnecessary contact with others, the Committee has made the decision to postpone the Kingsway LAC Annual General Meeting (AGM). Under our constitution, we must hold our AGM by the 30th September so at this point in time, we have not set a new date for the AGM and will not do so until we have a better idea of when life may return to some kind of normalcy. We know that the current situation is bigger than athletics and something everyone in the world is trying to come to grips with. Many of our members are going through a really difficult time and we ask that you continue to look out for one another. We encourage everyone to use our online resources in Team App and Facebook group to stay connected and continue supporting one another - whether it be advertising your local business that is still open, asking for help to access groceries, or just reaching out for conversation. Our community has always come together during tough times and this situation is no different. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you online until the time is right to return together to enjoy our sport. Thank you Kingsway Little Athletics Centre Committee

20.01.2022 We would love to see how you are staying fit at home!

19.01.2022 This morning we sent all members our first newsletter of the season. If you can't see it in your inbox, we recommend checking your junk/spam folder and marking it as not junk. The newsletter is a new feature this year so we'd love your feedback - did we miss something important? Is there a regular feature you'd like to see added? Did you read something that you need further information on? We are here to help make the newsletter exactly what members want.

18.01.2022 Now more than ever is the time to get behind the business who have supported our Centre and Clubs (as they are all small businesses) so that they can continue to support us into the future. We don't want to see any of our sponsors suffering during these unusual times, so if you are able to, get out and get behind them (keeping your distance of course ). Support those that support us!... 16.01.2022 Hi everyone, now we have initial dates for a Winter Season start, we need to find a coach! If you are interested in coaching the Winter Club on Monday and Wednesday from 5pm to 6.15pm at Kingsway Cricket Oval, please message me as soon as possible so we can get training. Thanks, Al, Kingsway LAC Winter Manager UPDATE: Craig will be returning to coach on Wednesdays only so we will need a Monday coach please

16.01.2022 A reminder that our Parent Training Session is on tomorrow at 10am. We'd love to see as many parents and guardians as possible to go through how to chaperone each event. We also require more volunteers for our equipment shed tidy-up also starting at 10am. Many hands make light work! Hope to see you there!

15.01.2022 Saturday competition will always go ahead, regardless of the weather. If there is a serious risk to athletes, the decision will be made at that time to alter the program or cancel certain events but rarely the whole competition day.Saturday competition will always go ahead, regardless of the weather. 12.01.2022 If your chosen Winter sport is Football, please support this weekends Sock it to Sarcoma round in honour of former Kingsway Little Athletics Centre and Wanneroo Little Athletics Club athlete Kalin Foley. Why wear odd socks this weekend? Kalin Foley was in year seven in 2012 when he was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue paediatric sarcoma called Rhabdomyosarcoma after a suspected injury in a game of football. Kalin had played for Wanneroo Junior Football Club for many years ...& attended Prendiville Catholic College with many Ocean Ridge Junior Football Club players. Each year these two Clubs play a special game named in Kalins honour. Kalin lost his battle at 15 years of age in September 2014 after an extensive treatment regime and one hell of a fight. Sarcoma is a group of rare primary bone and soft tissue tumours, given a number of different names depending on the type of tissue from which they arise. The causes of sarcoma, including whether there are any underlying genetic links, are not yet established. This is the reason why more research into the molecular biology and etiology is so crucial. Wear Odd Socks to your Footy match this weekend and donate a gold coin to help Sock it to Sarcoma!

06.01.2022 Reminder that Monday night is our AGM. We are still seeking people to fill the roles of Treasurer and four general committee member roles. The Committee makes decisions on behalf of the Centre to ensure everything runs smoothly for the benefit of all members. You don't need any technical knowledge to join the Committee- just a passion to see Kingsway LAC be a great Centre. Our General Members all hold various different portfolios depending on their skills, interests and time availability. Perhaps you would like to create a new portfolio such as Fundraising, Social Events or a role we haven't even thought of. If you have a particular skill, specialist knowledge that may be useful or would like to see a new program / initiative introduced to the Centre then we encourage you to nominate.

05.01.2022 A fantastic result for our Community to help reduce litter, improve recycling efforts, and get everyone involved in keeping our state beautiful! The added bonus is KLAC will receive 10 cents per container received! So by simply recycling your containers, you can help raise funds for Centre equipment and events.

05.01.2022 NEW RECYCLING BIN You may have seen new yellow "Containers for Change" recycling bins. Which have been placed around the oval on Saturday. We have noticed that other non recycling items such as food and coffee cups were being placed in these yellow bins. Can we please ask that you read the information below and chat to your children about what items that can be recycled through this bin. Whilst we would like to recycle every piece of plastic, "containers for change" has spe...cific guidelines which we would like to follow. Also each eligible container will earn 10c for KLAC Thank you for playing your part in doing the best we can for our environment. See more

04.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE Tthe Board of Little Athletics Australia has advised all Centres that organised activities should be suspended immediately due to the evolving situation of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) until at least 20 April 2020 when the Board will reassess the situation and provide further advice. This means any Club wind up / trophy days will unfortunately need to be postponed. At this stage Winter training will also not begin until given the all clear by LAA. ... LAA's full statement can be read at the following link - https://littleathletics.com.au/statement-to-the-little-at/

04.01.2022 We had a very successful Inclusion Relay team winning Gold at the State Relay championships in 2019. This year we are looking for a fourth member. If you would love to join the team and complete at the stadium please email [email protected]

04.01.2022 Hi everyone, at this stage, winter training is still on this evening. The only time we usually consider cancelling is when there is lightning or heavy rain. See you tonight!

03.01.2022 Congratulations to our Kingsway athletes who competed this weekend at the State Combined Event Championships; 12F - Eliza Bawden - finished 21st on 1131 points - Zoe Chew - finished 23rd on 878 points... 12M - Charlie Crotty - finished 9th on 1302 points - Quentin Treanor - finished 11th on 972 points - Cooper Payne - finished 14th on 841 points 13F - Ruby Manov - finished 2nd on 2462 points - Riannah Allen - finished 3rd on 2393 points - Ella Harbison - finished 14th on 1562 points These athletes also achieved an incredible 27 PB's at the event! Not only are they amazing results but it was a mammoth effort by some of these athletes as they took part in our relay time trial on Friday, competed at Kingsway on Saturday and then at the Stadium on Sunday too. No doubt they will sleep soundly tonight!

02.01.2022 An almighty massive congratulations to Ella Harbison who just won gold in the U14 Javelin with a throw of 36.14m! A sensational effort Ella, we are all so proud!

02.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came to our end of season wind up - we hope you had an awesome time and season!

02.01.2022 National Volunteer week became a whole lot better today when Dr Anne Alys office phoned with the great news that our application for a $5,000 volunteer grant had been successful! As one of only fifteen community organisations in Cowan to receive one of the Commonwealth grants, we are extremely grateful to be selected. We will use the grant funds to replace our current starting guns with electronic starting pistols. Our current starting guns use caps which have small dots of explosive material and have a dangerous goods classification. These caps are extremely sensitive to touch, heat, moisture and friction which has caused several accidents in the past. These small explosions result in injury, burns and hearing damage so replacing the guns with electronic pistols will make competitions safer for volunteers, athletes and spectators.

02.01.2022 Our first Saturday with the opening ceremony has been changed from 17th Oct to the 24th Oct. This is due to the late finish date of football this year due to COVID-19 and the scheduled two weeks of maintenance of the oval. 24th Oct - Opening Ceremony and short event program 31st Oct - Program 1
