24.01.2022 CAPA NEWS Jemma has been completing a week of work experience with our CAPA faculty, looking at the behind the scenes, in-and-outs of what goes into preparing a lesson and being a teacher. Today she was given a chance to teach one of our year 7 Visual Arts classes. Jemma was able to help students understand tonal value and develop new drawing techniques. The lesson was a huge success!

20.01.2022 We recently completed Stage 1 external seating project, in preparation of the northern oval upgrade at Kingswood High School. This project involved removing weathered timber and designing an area capable of seating an entire year group, bearing in mind the schools forecast growth. This area has now been widened by a new concrete-sleeper footprint, then levelled and backfilled to ensure we have a safe, durable foundation. Sandstone blocks complement the design, whilst ad...ding additional seating and platform bench seats and 8 outdoor seating settings were then added, which increased the seating capacity from 30 to 170 as a result. Thank you to our school-community partnerships with Lendlease and Tim Marden from DBM NSW for their assistance with this project. We would also like to extend our thanks to all our VET Construction students for all their hard work during the Term.

19.01.2022 YEAR 6 INTO YEAR 7 2021 Have you booked your Year 6 Parent/Carer transition interview yet? Previously, these meetings occurred face to face on school grounds, but this year we have had to change the way we do this. ... Parents/Carers are asked to call the front administration office to book their phone/zoom meeting as soon as possible. These meetings between parent/carer, their child, and Year Advisors are an important way we can gather information about our new students. Meetings only take 15 minutes and timeslots are available from 8:30am-4pm. For those who book a zoom meeting - the invitation will be sent to your email approx 30 minutes prior to the meeting time. Thank you to the parent/carers who have already booked their meeting in.

12.01.2022 Attention Parent and Carers of Year 6 students enrolled to start Year 7 at Kingswood High School in 2021. Transition Interviews between Parents/Carers, students and staff at Kingswood High School are a valuable way of getting to know more about the student before the term begins. Please call the school administration office on 4736-1202 to book a time for a 'Zoom' or 'Phone' meeting (with both you and your child) that will be conducted next week between Wednesday 25th Nov - Friday 27th Nov.

10.01.2022 Our year 7 visual arts students have been hard at work this semester, exploring cubism and post-neo cubism. Looking at ways to create different types of portraits. These amazing artworks combine geometric shapes with multiple perspectives and smash our students photos with a range of artworks. Well done year 7!

09.01.2022 Year 7 2021 Orientation Day is tomorrow - Tuesday, 1st December Please note: To participate in Orientation Day, all relevant enrolment paperwork must have been completed and received by our Enrolment Officer. Students must be dropped off in the bus bay to sign in by 8:50am.... Due to COVID restrictions, parents and carers can not be on school grounds. At the end of the day, students can be collected from the Bus Bay at 2pm. Students will need to bring a drink bottle (it's going to be hot), pencils and their recess. A sausage sizzle lunch will be provided. If you have any questions regarding Orientation Day, please call our front office on 4736-1202 between 8am - 2.45pm.
