23.01.2022 Programmed works about People of Colour are talked about as the diversity pick, seen as a tourist stop in the middle of a more traditionally arranged season. This tokenistic treatment is discouraging, but it’s hard to speak out about it when we feel lucky to have anything at all take a read of this EXCELLENT article by Jasper Lee-Lindsay for Audrey Journal https://www.audreyjournal.com.au/arts/yellow-face-kxt

22.01.2022 We’d normally be going through the glorious mountain of EOIs for next season about now. But with all things theatre remaining uncertain, we’ll be doing it differently. Firstly no shows from the KXT2020 season have been cancelled. All seasons were postponed and we’re working with producers to arrive at alternative dates in 2021. We’re pretty chuffed with how it’s all looking and can’t wait to announce dates and details. And secondly: we plan to invest even more in our artists... support programs. KXT is #morethanashow and 2021 will be about assisting producers to deliver quality work quickly, with the usual bAKEHOUSE focus on new writing, inclusive and representative work and women-led projects. We’re making plans to #openthedoor more here http://www.kingsxtheatre.com/blog-2/open-the-door-2020 Suzanne, John and Andrew

17.01.2022 We’re a family and we've lost a member of that family. We are heartbroken by the news of Bardiya McKinnons passing. We are privileged to have worked with him, seen him birth a company, seen him grow as an artist, seen him become an emerging leader in the community, seen his opportunities thrive as he has grown. Bardiya was a beautiful soul and this is unthinkable and tragic. Our love goes out to his family. Rest In Peace, Bardiya ... Audrey Journal https://bit.ly/3o2Zsci
