25.01.2022 Royal Melbourne is over for another year and the washing pile is huge, but worth it. No success in the ring on main judging day, and unfortunately due to illness, Andrew had to leave the show halfway through. Thanks to our wonderful team of Olivia Jury & Annie Pumpa, it was all girl power for the rest of the show.... We even managed to get reserve bull calf of the show with Rosewood Nightrider (with some help from our fitting team pictured below), which we are very pleased with. Next up is Royal Geelong with our two junior bulls.

25.01.2022 Another frosty morning, that turned into a fantastic day to play with cows. Only 5 weeks till Royal Melbourne is here. Favourite show of the year (only because I can never get to Sydney). Looking forward to catching up with everyone for a froffy or two

23.01.2022 Well weve been a little quiet over here at Rosewood, but all for good reason! Preparation for the 2018 Angus round up has been in full swing. This year we are taking our two up and coming bull calves who will be shown by Harley Cobb and Olivia Jury. Also in his very first year of competing we are very excited to have our oldest child/son Jamie. We want to thank the Powe family of Goondoola Red Angus for giving Jamie the opportunity to show one of your heifers. Hope you all have safe travels to Wodonga and we hope to see you there.

22.01.2022 3 new heifers on the block

20.01.2022 Righto! A couple of updates over here at Rosewood! All of our animals have calved including Ruby, whose was our last. So YES! We will be drawing our competition, were just waiting to finalise all our P names and the hats are being made as we speak. Today we started 2019 breaking, which also includes calves we will include in our 2020 feature team. We started with the 3 oldest calves out of our matrons, khaleesi, June and Red! We had a huuuuge help from our friend Jenna who has travelled all the way from Canada Im sure you all will see her a few times throughout the year.

20.01.2022 This year at Rosewood we are also competing in the Beef Carcass competition at Melbourne Royal. Preparation is well underway.

16.01.2022 Life’s never dull around here at Rosewood. Last week we got our autumn break, luckily the seed was sown just in time for a germination. Also as you can see we have the youngest members of the team, Heath (7) and Ebony (5) helping feed out hay and brushing the newly broken heifers that are freshly weaned.

15.01.2022 A very sad end to the Canada trip & 2017 with the loss of one of foundation females. GK Trendy Maple produced some outstanding females for us and was an absolute dream to have on our property. Sadly this is a big blow for our already small herd, but thankfully we have her fantastic genetics running strong through our herd.

15.01.2022 The new show shed is all finished, complete with tie up stalls & wash bays. After the crazy winds and rain lately though, i might have to request some walls!

13.01.2022 Still very tired and lacking sleep after the Geelong Royal Show. But here are a few snaps from Mike Hentschke who was kind enough to stay at the ring for the 4 days. Heath did his first Handlers (thanks for the Limo calf from Pat Halloran), walked away with second.

13.01.2022 In between settling down from Melbourne and getting some bull calves ready for Geelong; here at Rosewood we have hay to cut! It was a great afternoon to have a walk around the paddock and watch the sunset. Although its only 12 acres, we are looking forward to seeing the hay stacked in the shed before Andrew heads off the Canada in November. Shoutout to Annie Pumpa for the photos.

12.01.2022 Well stoked is an understatement. Our first carcass competition is done and dusted. Midnight cowboy placed 2nd in an extremely tough export class of 12. We are absolutely wrapped with our Hoof results and look forward to see how he has hung over the past couple of days. Results are announced on Saturday afternoon. More photos to come

11.01.2022 Yesterday Rosewood arrived safely with our two sale bulls, along with Barregowa in tow. The boys are washed and settled after weighing and scanning today. We are absolutely stoked with the results of our 15 month old bulls! 10.01.2022 Out checking the first 3 calves to hit the ground this spring, and you wouldnt believe it but we have 3 HEIFERS!!! We have 2 cows yet to calve so stay tuned for updates.

09.01.2022 If we could wrap her in cotton wool or bubble wrap, we probably would. The new heifer is looking the goods, but she definitely has a lot of pressure riding on those little hooves being our first heifer in over 2 years. We have finally decided on a name though. Rosewood Natalie Maple

08.01.2022 Well some exciting happenings over here at Rosewood. Andrew and Annie have headed over the other side of the world to Canada to check out some of the genetics influencing our herd. Pictured here is Andrew, Annie and Clint from Lazy MC Angus. Within our herd we have used Lazy MC Trooper that has had a lot of influence. Keep tuned as they travel through Canada to seek more genetics!

07.01.2022 An exceptional weekend for Rosewood with 2 Exhibits being shown at the Royal Geelong Show. Heifer show Results - NEW ROMANTIC - Reserve Bull - NEVE MAPLE - 2nd in heifer class ... Class Results - NEW ROMANTIC - Junior Bull - NEVE MAPLE - Junior Heifer - Supreme Red Angus Exhibit We were also lucky enough that both exhibits received 3rd in interbreed.

07.01.2022 So the day has arrived where our first carcass competition animal enters the show ring. Midnight cowboy has settled in well and weighed in at 636kg. Judging begins at 2:00pm this afternoon.

04.01.2022 *NEWSFLASH* We have just had another Maple calf hit the ground...and its a........HEIFER! That takes the tally to 2 heifers and 2 bulls for the year!

03.01.2022 First full week of February and we were blessed with 6mm of rain! Which is definitely better then nothing. The season is still tough feeding hay out every day. How much rain have you had so far? Pictured is Ruby, known as Andrews pride and joy with her baby bull calf Pump the Jam or as we call him Pumpa or Pumps were very excited about the future of this calf.

01.01.2022 In 2017 we were lucky enough to see the phenomenal Cattle in the Six Mile Herd while travelling in Canada. Rosewood now have 4 calves on the ground involving genetics from Six Mile and couldnt be happier with the result! For all the Red Angus, Black Angus Breeders our there, take the time to have a look through their Embryo Extravaganza frozen genetic sale. We believe they have some of the best in the business!
