22.01.2022 Not an astro...what?! I had always wanted to see Blencoe Falls via the Kirrama Range Road so at the start of August we set out with a couple of stops along the way. Over 4 hours later we get about 1.5k's from the falls themselves and are greeted with a road closure sign. Bugger.... We consulted the map and could see a track in a little bit back from where we had passed so parked, put on our hiking boots and hiked in thinking it would only be a couple of k's. Five k's late...r we finally could see the gorge and hear the falls but were behind, and on the wrong side, to see the actual falls. Not as spectacular as I was hoping for but still stunning nonetheless where I was able to catch just the tail end of the sunset. Till next time, Blencoe Falls.
18.01.2022 A little something that I recently had the honour of being a part of. And, between you and I, I may have googled "how to film and edit a music video" a couple of times along the way Nothing like the deep end to get you swimming!
06.01.2022 It was time again for what is turning out to be my annual trip to one of my favourite places to escape for a few days. The sky didn't put on quite as good of a show as last time but still spoilt for beautiful scenery. Thank you for having me again Elim Beach Campground - Eddie's Camp
04.01.2022 Ok, last bit of astro spam (for a while) I promise! This is from one of the trial and error nights (emphasis on error) that I mentioned in my time lapse video post. I had to do a fair bit of work in post processing to fix up the foreground on this one due to the lights that were cast on the bank from our camp but I couldn't put it in the B grades bin due to the awesome meteors I manage to capture.
04.01.2022 The traditional and the not so traditional. Wandered up to Hartleys Creek Falls a few weeks ago and had to get the glory shot of the waterfalls but I also got another photo that caught my attention when I got home to edit. There's a technique in photography called "ICM" - Intentional Camera Movement which is where you purposely take a blurry or out of focus photo for arts sake.... Now, as much as I'd like to admit the second photo was a result of careful planning and execution but I actually slipped down a rock and triggered my shutter to release and this was the result :D Usually I'm not the biggest fan of ICM but there's just something about this one that I quite like which I can't put my finger on. Makes me think of a book cover to a thriller or murder mystery or some kind of album cover.
