09.01.2022 Last week we had our 157th screening @sunstudios Thanks to all those that screened and attended. To those that missed out, we devoured a delicious green curry courtesy of @cookedforyoubynat, celebrated our host Chris's 10th anniversary at Kino with a decadent profiterole stack from Pasticceria Tamborrino, and gave away slick prizes like a vinyl record from the soundtrack to American Gigolo. Be sure to get in on the action at our next screening on Tuesday, May 11th.

09.01.2022 RIP Chadwick Boseman aka Black Panther. Gone far too soon.

05.01.2022 Amongst all the other sets we posted from Sydney Props that's available on our Kabaret weekend, there's also a classroom you can get your hands on too. Think Ferris Bueller, School of Rock, Dead Poet's Society, Election, Dazed and Confused, Clueless. The ideas are endless. If that's not enough, there's also some neat props available to use on the Saturday from Sydney Props too. So start developing ideas and think about what outfits you want to bring. It'll be a shame to let ...these sets down without some killer costumes on hand. Remember those Kabaret dates are December 4th - 7th. #makeafilm #48filmchallenge #kinokabaret #indiefilmmaker #filmmaker #guerrillafilmmaking #justfilmit

16.12.2021 We screened a film on Sunday night that raised awareness of the current plight in Afghanistan, and those behind the film have set up a fundraiser and picnic to spread the word. If you're able to, please get involved, or simply share the event/donation page with your friends. It's safe to say we take for granted our freedoms of expression and thought, yet those privileges are sadly not afforded to those in Afghanistan right now, and it's hard to comprehend the magnitude of th...is from our side of the world. We're extremely fortunate to be able to come together at Kino to freely showcase our creativity and exchange ideas openly. As film lovers, I'm sure this will strike a chord with you, but I recently read an article by the ABC on the current closure of cinemas in Kabul. Just imagine a world where you couldn't have access to a cinema, or where the concept of Kino didn't exist at all. We're so lucky to be able to escape into films made from any part of the world. We have access to technologies that allow us creative expression and we're able to wear our unique film tastes as a badge of honour. All this are very much apart of our lives and we most certainly take this for granted. To read the article, click on the link below: https://www.abc.net.au//now-silent-under-taliba/100617828 To donate, head to: https://gofund.me/3c471de2 To find out more about the fundraiser, visit Peace Picnic for Afghanistan Or to attend the picnic and show your support, just click on this event page:

13.12.2021 Thanks everyone for coming out to Kino last night. We were absolutely thrilled by the range of films screened and the calibre. Well done to all the filmmakers. It was great to be back post lockdown and to see so many new and familiar faces, yet it was made extra special by the fact that majority of films shown last night were by female filmmakers, it is a rare treat, but we hope this isn't a one off. Look forward to bringing you all more screenings in the coming year at our new venue! Thanks Joshua Belinfante aka Finesilver for the snaps! Also, thanks to Jolin Jiang, John Luna, Chris Hale and Simon Pearce for all the help in making Kino a great night.

28.11.2021 It's a perfect day to go watch some locally produced films today. Here's a few of the shorts we will be playing tonight, so come along at 5pm to East Sydney Community and Arts Centre in Darlinghurst. There will be all you can get popcorn on offer, so what more could you want on a rainy day.

18.11.2021 We're excited to be screening at our new venue tomorrow. We even made an ultra-lame video to give you all a sneak peak at the new space. It's going to be a fun one, so make sure you pre-book your tickets at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/200808873747
