17.01.2022 After years of fine tuning breeding and feeding Kinross Station Hampshire Down is now supplying export and domestic markets weekly. This picture is the first lamb broken heading to Victor Churchill this weekend. Thanks to the many scientists, producers and friends who have assisted in the research, breeding and taste testing our lamb. Also to our staff who’s attention to detail is what sets us apart. 17.01.2022 Keep an eye on the sales performance of the Primeline Maternal Ewes. They have consistently sold for between $50-$100 over other composite ewes. Decades of building type, performance and a brand is paying off for hundreds of clients.

16.01.2022 Marbling in lamb is a visual thing and it can be measured in a similar manner to beef. It’s the key determinant of consumer satisfaction in lamb. Today we started using a measurement system to objectively grade our Hampy lambs. While it’s got plenty of work it’s a positive start. The better lambs were grading Marble Score 6-7 on the AUSMEAT beef grading system. The lamb industry is about to change with grading allowing consumers to be able to purchase a premium lamb product consistently. Watch this space....

Georgia Cluff takes over as Breeding Manager LAMBPRO and Kinross Station. George will oversea the joining, tagging and recording of over 11,000 lambs this season.
