01.01.2022 Trainer two for the New Zealand Trainers Working Dog Clinic is.... STEVE KERR Steve, wife Sue and their 3 children farm a 1400 acre hill property running 3000 sheep and 300 cattle near Fairlie, South Canterbury in the middle of the South Island. Steve grew up on a 50,000 acre high country station managed by his father. As a boy his farming interests were the Station’s Merino stud and sheepdogs.... Steve worked as a shepherd on sheep and cattle studs in the high country on the South Island and North Island hill stations for 13 years. Steve and Sue then returned to Fairlie in 2002 to farm on their own account. Steve has always been keen on sheepdog trailing following in his fathers footsteps. He ran his first dog at a trail aged 16. Steve has been a finalist and winner in numerous centre, Island and National championships. Steve judged a South Island Huntaway championship in 2017 and has been invited to judge a NZ Championship in 2020. Steve has been involved with helping people and sheep dog training for several years and for the last 2 has been engaged by Purina Proplan to run training days.
