17.01.2022 The cleaning products you should use against coronavirus: There's a good chance you probably already have the cleaning products you need in the cupboard. Your everyday cleaning methods and supplies, applied with diligent scrubbing, are adequate. The important thing is to first clean with a detergent and water, then disinfect with a bleach-based solution or an alcohol-based solution with at least 70% alcohol. Your choice of cleaning product will be determined by the type of s...urface you're cleaning and how likely it is that it is contaminated by the COVID-19 virus. If you feel the risk of contamination is high, you may like to opt for a stronger bleach-based solution for the disinfecting part of the process. Check the label to ensure the product kills viruses (not just bacteria) The Australian Department of Health says you should use a disinfectant that claims "antiviral activity", meaning it can kill a virus (such as chlorine-based disinfectants). This is different to an 'antibacterial cleaner'. Antibacterial cleaning products contain ingredients to eliminate germs and bacteria such as E. coli and salmonella. While you can still use these products to clean surfaces, the 'antibacterial' ingredients themselves will not eliminate COVID-19. Just to confuse you further, some products that market themselves as being 'antibacterial' are actually also disinfectants but not all. So check the label to ensure the product kills viruses as well (not just bacteria). Studies show that disinfectant products containing at least 6271% ethanol, 0.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite can remove a virus within one minute General sanitisers and cleaners that make claims such as 'antibacterial' do not have to be regulated or approved by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), however disinfectants do, so these products will list the ingredients they contain. Studies show that disinfectant products containing at least 6271% ethanol, 0.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite can remove a virus within one minute. You can also use diluted household bleach solutions for disinfecting. But you should never mix cleaning chemicals and detergents, or chemical-based products with natural-based chemicals such as vinegar-based detergents. The use of cleaning wipes against COVID-19 You can use wipes to clean surfaces, however, make sure you put the same level of elbow grease into the clean as you would using a cloth and standard spray product. And unless the product is a disinfectant that kills viruses, you may want to use a disinfectant product after you clean.
17.01.2022 As you are all aware the Ekka is fast approaching. The public holiday in Brisbane city falls on Wednesday the 15th of August. Please be aware that we will not be working on this day. I hope you all enjoy your day off *For my Moreton Bay clients I will be working as per usual*
16.01.2022 Monthly cleaning jobs- I can see clearly now. A monthly window clean is less of a chore with the proper equipment. Using a squeegee properly can take practice but once you get the hang of it, it's more efficient than any other method - and because squeegees don't create a static charge that attracts dust particles, your windows will stay dust-free longer. We also recommend to do your window cleaning when the sun isn't shining directly on the windows as the heat will set th...e chemicals and water making them hard to clean. Try the Karcher window vacuum to make the job easier. The Karcher is great on Mirror Wardrobes too See more

15.01.2022 Common questions about cleaning Covid19 - How do you disinfect surfaces for the coronavirus disease? Wipe the area with bleach solution (follow instructions for dilution measures) using disposable paper towels or a disposable cloth. Dispose of gloves and mask in a leak proof plastic bag. Wash hands well using soap and water and dry with disposable paper or single-use cloth towel. If water is unavailable, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub.
14.01.2022 With all of this damp, wet weather are you experiencing mould inside your home? Well here is the cheapest and most successful way to kill those spores. Put teaspoon of 100% clove oil into a litre of water in a spray bottle. Spray onto the mouldy areas (patch test first to make sure it doesnt damage the surface) then leave for a few hours. Wipe off with a wet cloth to remove the mould (sometimes it may need a scrub with a brush to get rid of stubborn mould). Then spray a li...ttle more on the area and leave it as this will stop mould growing back. (just make sure if you spray it on the ceiling it doesnt fall into your eyes wear protective eye wear!) Clove Oil is a truly amazing essential oil it has many healing properties as well as being an effective oil to use around your home. It is also an anti-microbial, anti-fungal, antiseptic and anti-viral. You can purchase it as 100% oil or pre-mixed in water from most chemists, health food stores, online and select supermarkets. The oil can be a bit expensive but because you only use a tiny amount it will last for a long time. It can also be used for- Removing mouldy smell from Damp Clothes Cleaning a Mouldy Patio (paved/tiled) Removing Mould from Leather Removing Mould from Fabric Lounges Removing Mould from Carpets Fly Deterrent/Ant Killer

11.01.2022 Do you have rust stains on your floor or bench like this? I recommend a few things to try - CLR Kitchen, BKF (Bar Keepers Friend), Gumption or White Magic Sponges. I must say all of these products require a bit of Elbow Grease... Let me know if this works for you or if you have tried something else that removes the stain

10.01.2022 Do you walk into your home after the cleaner has been and think....ahhhh the carpet looks fabulous. Well here are a few tips on how to create those perfect carpet lines. The best way to get perfect lines is to face what you are vacuuming. Vacuum yourself out of a room. Make long lines in rows until you get to the doorway then vacuum in a fan shape out of the doorway.... Split up large rooms into sections. Move any furniture you can, dont just vacuum around it. I always move the coffee table, chairs, etc. With a little practice youll be making perfect vacuum lines in your house and get lots of oooos and ahhhs from your friends and family members! Or just call Kip It Clean to do it for you 0406 255 539
09.01.2022 To my valued clients. In light of the the current Coronavirus situation taking place and with the current ‘Hotspots’ on the Peninsula and within the Greater Brisbane area, could I please kindly ask you to let me know if anyone in your household is under self or forced quarantine, waiting on COVID test results or experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms before our next clean. I understand that it is a trying time for all at the moment with lots of current uncertainty, however, I would be very appreciative of any notice of people who are taking these precautions as I certainly don’t wish to enter into a self-imposed quarantine if it can be at all avoided. I very much thank you for your continued support and wishing you all a happy and healthy Easter! Kerri at Kip it Clean

06.01.2022 Tips for effective cleaning against coronavirus Wear gloves. Use a clean cloth or disposable paper towel. Cleaning: Pay special attention to the bathroom and toilet, as well as frequently touched surfaces such as tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs and cabinet handles, and personal items such as mobile phones. Disinfecting: Be sure to follow the instructions on products or they could be ineffective. Be careful not to mix different cleaning products, such as bleach... with vinegar, as this can create dangerous solutions. For the disinfectant to be as effective as possible, make sure it has contact with the surface for at least 510 minutes to kill bacteria and viruses. Dispose of gloves and cleaning cloth (or wash thoroughly) and wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. See more
05.01.2022 Common questions - How can you prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease? 04.01.2022 7 Steps For Cleaning A Microwave Wipe out all large particles of food and other crumbs inside the microwave. Fill a bowl about halfway with water, and bring it to a boil in the microwave, approximately 2-3 minutes.... If your microwave also has a smell, add lemon juice to the water before boiling. After the microwave has stopped keep the door of the microwave closed for an additional 5 minutes or so to allow the steamy water to work on loosening all the gunk and splatters inside. Take the water out VERY CAREFULLY. (Sorry, I dont mean to shout, but I dont want you to get burned by the still scalding water when you take it out.) Now you can easily wipe out all the food particles and splatters because they were loosened by the steam. In the future, make sure that you wipe up all spills as they occur to keep from having to do this steam cleaning too often.
