02.01.2022 Housing 21 wins Best older people’s landlord at the UK Housing Awards! Last night Housing 21 won Best older people's landlord at the UK Housing Awards 'the biggest and best awards' in the housing sector! We were also shortlisted in the Digital provider of the year and Innovation: Technology categories for our work installing digital call systems and PEBBLEs.... The UK Housing Awards were looking for a landlord who has played a vital part in providing housing and support to older people. They wanted to celebrate a provider that has developed and delivered a housing offer which meets the changing needs of the older population. This win shows how we, as an organisation, do so much more than just put a roof over peoples' heads and how fantastic our people are in helping residents to maintain their independence and live healthy, happy lives. On the night the judges commented on our achievements in helping people living with dementia and the amount of work we have undertaken in the last year. Every staff member at Housing 21 believes in 'doing the right thing' and this is evidenced by a high resident satisfaction score, which improves year on year. We listen to our residents - whether it is on the matter of keeping the Court Manager in our Retirement Living schemes when other providers are removing theirs or taking steps to retain care staff to ensure a consistent person-centred approach is maintained. We are passionate, not just about ensuring residents' voices are heard, but also acting upon it. An approach which saw our name change from 'Housing & Care 21' back to 'Housing 21' last year, following feedback from our residents who said this would give them greater pride in their homes. Every ounce of our existence as an organisation is about improving the lives of older people in England. For us, this goes beyond the work we are doing for our own residents, it also means using our innovation and influence to improve the work of others too. Congratulations to everyone working at Housing 21- this is an award win we should all be proud of!
02.01.2022 Let's unlock the credits!!! So many people are missing out on pension credit and access to other benefits. Each year 3.5 billion of pension credit and other benefits go unclaimed by older people. It is believed that as many as 1. 2 million people who may be eligible are not claiming. For more information on pension credit, please speak to your Court Manager or use the online pension credit calculator to check eligibility or to get an estimate of what you may receive....
