25.01.2022 SPARK in partnership with JobTrainer (a jointly funded initiative of the ACT and Australian Governments), Canberra Institute of Technology, Strathnairn Arts Association, UnitingCare Kippax and the ACT Training Fund Authority are proud to launch this innovative training program to encourage more people to consider a career in the construction industry. This program will give participants an opportunity try a variety of job roles through a taster model focused on carpentry, b...rick and block laying, concreting, excavation, tiling, painting and general labouring. Participants will also undertake a live training construction project at Strathnairn Arts Association which will see 5 large wicking garden beds built for Café Stepping Stone. 08.01.2022 Do you want to learn how to do some simple jobs around the house? The Trades Workshop on Friday 30 April from 10am - 12.30pm will teach you how to patch and paint walls, repair a flyscreen, and use certain tools. The workshop will be led by a qualified tradie from Programed Essential Services. To register for this FREE workshop call 6254 1733 to register.
