25.01.2022 The Variety of Chefs Gourmet Dinner was held on Saturday night, raising much-needed funds for kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs. Not only was it a great evening, Variety - the Children’s Charity NT raised $29,000 towards its cause. I had the pleasure of mixing with some hospo royalty, including Danny and Monica Yeung from one of our favourite lunchtime haunts, Roast and Noodle 328, and seafood consultant, Ziko Illiac. 25.01.2022 Did someone say 7 weeks until Christmas?! The Foodbank Appeal Christmas Hamper drop off for Foodbank NT has commenced around locations in Darwin. If you can spare a few items, please drop them in the bins provided at the the stores. Anything counts! They are located in Coles, Woolworths and IGA. It was great to pop in during the launch and donate some items for such a great cause. Well done guys.

22.01.2022 The City of Darwin has released another set of My Darwin discount vouchers of $200,000 just in time for Christmas to help inject money into the economy, and the Northern Territory government have matched that to increase the total to $400,000. 20.01.2022 I was very proud to light up the first Christmas lights at Paspaley Park in Cullen Bay last night. We also lit up the beautiful lighting on the new structures as part of the 10 Million dollar upgrades in conjunction with the Cullen Bay management group. Having worked for the City of Palmerston for the past ten years in community service roles, she has successfully launched new centres, including the Community Arts Centre, executed high-profile events... across the Territory, delivered services to community groups, and significantly increased awareness and funding for various organisations and initiatives. Jan is proud to be the first Mates4Mates employee in the region and is dedicated to supporting the veteran community to improve their quality of life. With an understanding of the issues and challenges faced by veterans, Jan takes an evidence-based approach to rehabilitation and support and is looking forward to being part of the Territory’s first-ever veteran and family wellbeing centre. Jan’s other main focus will be on establishing strong working relationships with the key stakeholders of the NT VFWC and understanding the needs of local service organisations to help inform the future wellbeing centre in Darwin. 08.01.2022 Darryl Kerrigan would be very impressed with this enormous hole we've excavated in preparation for the Territory's newest Charles Darwin University campus in the CBD. The Education Precinct is the centrepiece of the Darwin City Deal, supported by funding from the Federal and Territory Governments and the City of Darwin. We're backing local business and keeping Territory tradies in jobs and this is why this precinct is so important for the Territory’s economic comeback.

It's such a great initiative providing training and retail experience for young people with a disability by assisting them to walk into paid employment. 04.01.2022 I was working as Minister for Primary Industry and Resources when the threat of Citrus Canker was having a devastating impact on the livelihoods of NT farmers and the agriculture industry, and also affecting local residents who were forced to remove plants. Being able to completely eradicate this disease is an incredible achievement. I have the utmost respect for the team in the Department and industry representatives who worked tirelessly to end this, and the community for coming together to ensure there was as little impact as possible on our Citrus industry. Well done!
