20.01.2022 Mauri beautiful people, first of all i thank God for this opportunity. Arau bon nei Jane Bautoka Teruka Maas, aran tamau bon ten Toakarawa Teruka kain Tabetuea, Beru ao Onotoa, aran tinau bon nei Baaua Teruka Aram kain Nikunau, Arorae ao Tamana ao abaati riki. I am a Solomon Islander of Gilbertese descent, I now live in Australia with my Husband ... Richard and children. I have a passion for volleyball !! and love to play, it is more then just a sport for me it is a lifestyle. I started playing with Brisbane Volleyball club socially on a Tuesday which was great fun but then I discovered competitions and I started playing with Brisbane Spikers. I love helping to organise teams and getting things motivated! You will find me booking Nissan Arena for a bunch of girls to play, organising uniforms and making sure we are all set to go play. I recently attended the Queensland Country competition in Hervey Bay and we had a mostly Kiribati team which was awesome and very noisy Ha Ha !!! We hired a big Queenslander house and we had so much fun, we also were welcomed by some extended Gilbertese family’s that live in Hervey Bay and we had some beautify seafood and big Story Story. I love to represent Kitibati and the Solomon Islands in Volleyball and socially! We recently had a Volleyball competition for our Fellowship group to raise money for some 50 Gilbertese sailors that have been stuck in Australia due to COVID and we had some of my Spikers friends come to play and enjoy the food and dancing. They were all amazed that our culture is so strong and we always have so much fun and always laughing, some of them said that they were sad that their groups had lost the traditional way but maybe they will now be inspired !!!
