03.01.2022 Amazing work from @cdm_studio_perth West Australian Stygofauna are subterranean critters found in ground water system caves.... CDM had the task of making 12 scaled up versions of these beasties for the wild life gallery in the @wamuseum In reality most of the invertebrates are only between 0.3 to 10mm in length And are practically transparent, lack in eyes and pigmentation. In some cases only one photograph existed Super chuffed getting to work with Dr Nikolai Tatarnic curator of Ethology @i_dr_nik Who is super passionate about these creatures We asked LA based Erik Keller @bloopatone01 to take the lead on sculpting. Which was awesome as we were feeling the enormity of the overall workload. The assembled SLA prints were art worked up by James @james_creativeworks Hollow prints were injected with slightly tinted Epoxy resins from @kirksideproducts
