22.01.2022 What an extraordinary class! Today we took a trip to our "Winter Wonderland to explore how snow is made and create our own "Aussie Summer Snow" (well done to those who guessed it right in my "what are we making?" post yesterday )! To further explain how cloud snow is formed we made our own "snow cones" or slushies to top it all off! It was messy, sticky and soooooo much fun! I think it's safe to say, we had a ball... a snow ball... sorry, but it was right there!... Thank you as always to our awesome students for participating in this session and giving it all a go! 22.01.2022 What a fantastic year we've had! Here are some pics from Wednesday of our last Yum Science class/ Christmas party/ End of Year Celebration for 2020. This week we explored the science of chocolate and made Christmas truffles to top it all off! ... And of course we had the traditional "end of year prizes and teacher letters" at our awards ceremony It has been so fun to run these classes and while we are sad that they are over for the year, we also look forward to seeing you again next year. It has been incredible to teach and watch this group of boys learn and come together over just two terms! You are all amazing individuals and it has been a pleasure to teach and get to know you all! Thank you for participating in our classes this year and for being so willing to give anything a go! Thank you also to those students who weren't able to join us this term, but who were with us at the beginning of the year. 19.01.2022 This week we ventured into the magical (and mathematical) realm of engineering in our Home School Yum Science class, exploring bridges and their different designs, strengths and abilities. Our class got to design their own edible bridges (which eventually got eaten!) and test their durability! Everyone was so creative and thoughtful with their designs, you could really see the effort the boys put into their work! Everyone was so serious and intent on their projects ...too! It was super exciting to see!
