Because you deserve it. I spent so many years hearing mamas tell me that they regret not having their baby bump documented... a moment in time they will never ever get back. 15.01.2022 A little change I’m making in 2021 is ordering our gorgeous torn edge art prints I have such an incredible lab that prints our photographs on to this amazing heirloom quality art paper with the most unique torn edges. This incredible lab is located all the way over in Adelaide. And that means every order has to be posted to the studio! I am passionate about doing our bit to reduce our impact on the environment. Last year I change our packaging to be all recycled and reuse...d - from fabrics to recycled paper. All items that I reused and you can reuse too! This year I am reducing our impact by changing to once-per-week ordering. This change will reduce our impact by Less footprint in postage & delivery travelling across states! Less touch points and packaging by the lab meaning they will benefit from that time and money saving! Less postage costs mean no price rise to photography packages this year something I’m super pleased to pass on to my gorgeous clients for them to benefit from, especially after the crazy 2020 we all experienced. 14.01.2022 NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY WHAT TO EXPECT A newborn photography experience is a little different to your usual photo sessions. You can expect a warm studio ... Your baby cannot regulate their temperature like we can. Given most of our newborn session is nude or wrapped, we don't want baby to be cold at any point. So we have the thermostat up! It may be a little uncomfortable for mamas, dads and siblings. It can help to wear layers of clothing so you can take your jumper off to cool down a bit. I also have water available and I encourage everyone to stay hydrated. Feel free to pop outdoors for fresh air or step into the bathroom or hallway, it's much cooler there! The warm room also makes bubs sleepy... and sometimes mama and dad have a snooze on the couch too It's just all part of this beautiful newborn experience Can you guess what temperature I set the heating to?! A huge thank you to each and every family who visited the Greenhouse today to document their moments & support the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospitals Thank you to our amazing hosts @allambeeflowerfarm It’s been a huge couple of weeks at Kirra Photography so tonight I’m going to cozy up on the couch to watch some trashy TV (you know the finale I mean ) and tomorrow I’ll be back to editing all your gorgeous photos Thank... you again for all your support of the hospitals! 03.01.2022 NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY WHAT TO EXPECT A newborn photography experience is a little different to your usual photo sessions. You can expect bubs to cry at times.... It's totally natural! This little babe has experienced a lot of new big changes in their short time since birth. In the studio I make the environment warm and welcoming. I use white noise and for some babies a special gentle rocker if they prefer movement. We have cuddles and feeds. We use warm wraps and snuggly blankets so bub is warm and secure at all times. When bubs does cry, please do NOT apologise! There is nothing to be sorry for! Between you and I, we will settle baby and I will make sure bubs is safe, secure and happy at all times. Oh and sometimes the crying photos become the most treasured when bubs grows up! It's just all part of this beautiful newborn experience Much love, Mikaela x
