24.01.2022 It's 'Meet the Team' Monday again! This week meet Dr Maria Annese who joined KFMP earlier in the year from the former Vickers practice. Dr Maria loves collecting teapots and teacups! Her favourite animals are cats, however, she thinks every home needs a dog. Her favourite movies are both the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the original Star Wars. Outside of working at KFMP, Maria loves to read (especially a good murder mystery or any amazing book series) and also spending all day in the kitchen cooking something special. Again with our running theme here at KFMP.... Maria cannot live without her morning coffee (and her daily tea) !!

24.01.2022 KFMP are proud to welcome Dr Maria Annese to our practice. She will commence seeing her patients here on Tuesday 25th August. You can book with her by calling Reception on 9521 6261 or online via HotDoc: https://www.hotdoc.com.au//for-you/return-visit/18027/times

23.01.2022 Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, including melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. Every year in Australia skin cancers account for around 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers. Around 2000 people die from this disease every year. However, more than 95% of skin cancer cases are caused by unprotected exposure to UV radiation from the sun, meaning it is a nearly entirely preventable cancer. You can book your skin check at KFMP by calling 9521 626...1 or book online via HotDoc: https://www.hotdoc.com.au//kirrawee-family-medical/doctors (Information and Image: Cancer Council Australia).

22.01.2022 2021 off to a rough start? Support is always available.

22.01.2022 Whilst we try our best to run to schedule, sometimes due to emergencies we may be running late! If you feel that you have been waiting an exceptionally long time, please phone Reception again (9521 6261) to confirm that you are still waiting. We all appreciate your patience and cooperation during these times.

15.01.2022 It is 'Well-being Friday' again at KFMP. This week we will focus on supporting someone with mental health conditions. For many years, mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression were not discussed openly in the community because of stigma associated with the condition. It’s important to remember, when you take the first step in dealing with anxiety or depression, you are not alone support is available for you, too! And no one is going to tell you to 'cheer up' ...if you're distressed. A conversation can make a difference in helping someone feel less alone and more supported in recovering from anxiety and depression. Don’t underestimate the importance of just ‘being there’. Supporting someone to see a health professional about anxiety and/or depression can be really difficult. But if you've had a conversation with them about their mental health already, it's important to keep up the momentum and keep encouraging them to seek professional support. 14.01.2022 NSW Health is urging people to take precautions with heatwave conditions forecast for parts of the state this weekend. Simple ways to reduce the risk of heat-re...lated illness include: Avoid the heat of the day by staying indoors and keeping cool by using air-conditioning, fans and drawing blinds and curtains closed Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water Check on the welfare of vulnerable neighbours, friends and family Plan ahead for hot days. Signs of heat related illness include dizziness, tiredness, irritability, thirst, fainting, muscle pains or cramps, rapid pulse, shallow breathing, vomiting and confusion. People showing severe signs should seek urgent medical attention and, in an emergency situation, call Triple Zero (000). People should also continue to practise COVID-19 safe behaviour during the heatwave. If you are able to cool your home through a combination of fans, air-conditioning and closed blinds, please do so and stay at home. This is so physical distancing in other indoor spaces where people may seek relief from the heat, such as libraries or shopping centres, is not compromised. If you do leave your home to visit other indoor spaces, please physically distance and wear a face mask in places where you cannot maintain 1.5 metres distance from others. Keep in touch with relatives, neighbours and friends virtually through phone, social media or video call.

Dee can't live without food, wine and coffee. She also has 2 Boston Terriers who are spoilt rotten! KFMP is very excited to have Dee 'onboard' with the Team!
