25.01.2022 Unstoppable women have learned to differentiate between fear and risk. Fears are the scary fantasies we attach to risky situations. We learn those scary fantasies through our culture. Those scary fantasies confine us and keep us small.... Risks are observable or known consequences of a behaviour. Unstoppable women know how to let go of fears and manage risks. 3 Quick Starters: Trust your gut instinct when it tells you there are risks present. Stop calling yourself an idiot/weak/useless just because you're feeling fearful. Learn best practice from those who have already achieved what you want to do. Don't listen to 'armchair' experts! Expose the scary fantasies that are swirling in your mind by writing them down in fine detail. They're like vampires, they disintegrate the moment they're touched by sunlight. You can continue to build this skill during your journey with Go-Getter's Compass (ggcompass.com). It's an online learning adventure that makes women with self-doubt, unstoppable. Set your starting point by doing the free Go-Getter Grading Quiz: https://www.ggcompass.com/pages/go-getter-grade-quiz (If you're an amazing man please share this post with all the special women in your life who you love to see thriving)
24.01.2022 I love all of the words people came up with last night to describe what they gained from being involved in the Run Against Violence virtual challenge. Strength, hope, friendship, sisterhood...The power of the circle of humans being.
24.01.2022 Where experienced runners run in no-fee events, with no prizes, no aid and no wimps. This story is about my time as a newbie fat-asser and pays homage to the founding fathers Kevin Tiller and Sean Greenhill. It also mentions a raft of other notorious characters that made the sport of trail-ultra what it is today. Enjoy! The SUFR FB group can be found here: SUFR- Social Ultra Free Runs. 23.01.2022 On Good Friday two years ago I filmed a project I had been planning for some time, a two hour slow TV film shot at my local dog beach at Hillarys in Perth Weste...rn Australia. I really liked the slow TV genre and thought it could perhaps be enjoyed by those who would love to visit a dog beach, but are not able to, like people in aged care facilities. Since then it has had 8000 views. Little did I know that just two years later, on a similarly glorious weather Good Friday in Perth, three quarters of the world population may not be able to visit this or any other dog beach The day after the shoot I completed the edit which was very simple; there is just one shot, some color grading, framing to cinematic aspect, some titles and a very long render time and it was done. Given the two hour length and large file size I set it to upload to YouTube over Saturday night / Easter Sunday morning and hit the publish button just after I woke up. That Easter Sunday was ironically April Fools Day, 1 April 2018, a date I will remember always. After publishing the video I went out for a 90 minute ride on my Bionic Runner (a stand-up bike) and as I was pulling up back at my home I had a really bad fall. A fall that led to two weeks in hospital, and eight hours of surgery to insert three plates into my very badly broken jaw. It also resulted in a head injury which gave me some pretty bad memory issues for at least 18 months. For a long time I looked at this dog beach video as my last "normal" day, luckily I think I am now pretty well recovered and back to being ok, however now in the last month, the world around me has significantly changed. So for the coming months this will be my and our GSP Moby and Boxer Gator's special memory of one of our very favourite places. I invite you to put it on the big screen, gather your dogs around, and on Good Friday 10 April 2020 enjoy some time at the dog beach. Maybe share it and invite some friends to the dog beach also. It's probably best experienced on YouTube https://youtu.be/NfbKa8CQpuE One final note, after about half an hour there were a few dogs who decided to shake their sea water off their coats right in front of the camera, leaving some drops on the lens. This used to bother me a bit, and I thought I would go and reshoot it. Over time I have come to accept them as part of environment I was shooting in, and I am fine with them now. After all what is going to the dog beach without being 'dogged".
22.01.2022 Are you one of the 55%? How and when are you most likely to indulge in negative self-talk? Have you ever smashed it for a six and achieved anyway? Whenever I look at the data emerging from the Go-Getter Diagnostic Quiz I have a mixed bag of feelings. It's sad to know that 55% of women completing the Quiz invest time every day criticising themselves. On the other hand, it's incredible to also know how much they are still achieving. You can complete the Go-Getter Diagnostic Quiz here: https://www.ggcompass.com/pages/go-getter-grade-quiz
22.01.2022 Go-Getter’s Compass is a personal development program designed to make goal-driven women with self-doubt, unstoppable. Go-Getter’s Compass targets 4 game-changing behaviours: 1. Set goals that have you leaping out of bed... 2. Silence the ‘self-critical’ voice in your head 3. Turn up the volume on your gut instinct and act with confidence 4. Quit saying yes to everything and stay true to your course. Go-Getter’s Compass is available worldwide through affordable online courses including in-person Q & A sessions, peer discussions and a community aimed at building winning behaviours. Over 3 decades, my own transition, from self-doubt to unstoppable, has been the inspiration for Go-Getter’s Compass. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned from that transition and created a program that provides an express route, so other women can speed their process up and realise their ambitions. Message me "Go-Getter" to find out more.

17.01.2022 THIS IS THE FIRST PUBLICLY AVAILABLE GO-GETTER'S COMPASS MASTERCLASS *Available to Hands Group Members and Non-Members - Click the link for details* https://futureofleadership.com.au/events/... This Masterclass is ideal for women and men who want to bring out the best in the people around them, and themselves! Are you tired of self-doubt holding you or your team back from being your best? I have been a goal-achiever my entire life. In the last ten years or so, I have noticed very different levels of energy around my bold goals. For instance, three years ago, I ran solo from Broken Hill to Sydney, 1300km or 32 marathons in 19 days. From the moment I set that goal, I knew I was going to achieve it. There was no question inside me that I was going to make it happen. Compare that to my business life, and a very different picture emerges. I'm the sole director of business strategy consultancy, which I have owned for 21 years. Traditionally, people judged the success of a consultancy by the scale achieved. Those standards became the benchmarks for my goals. I succeeded with some of those goals. I failed or dumped a lot of them, and I never felt the same level of fulfilment as I did from the long run. After finishing the Broken Hill to Sydney run, I became obsessed with understanding what it would take to feel bone-deep certainty and fulfilment with every bold goal. After three years of investigation, I got the answer. We will be exploring that together in this masterclass. Register here https://futureofleadership.com.au/events/

14.01.2022 Today we ramped up the training for my next big adventure. In April 2021, Sean and I are going on a very special trail ride. For two weeks, we will be riding mostly remote trails and leading pack horses to retrace and connect the footsteps of his family and mine. With us will be a pack saddle used by Sean's grandparents more than 100 years ago, as they drove cattle from the Hunter Valley to Central Qld. This is a massive learning curve for me. Dusting off old skills and learning a ton more. Snippet is in training with me. It's a whole new world for her too. She loves the trails and mountains. We both have a lot of fitness to gain! #AustralianStockHorses #trailriding #BeUnstoppable #wildwomen #horselife

11.01.2022 It's a challenge to decide which is the best pull-out quote from this post by Mark Manson. Maybe you can help me decide. Here are two contenders. "So, I say raise your expectations. Elongate your process. Lay on your death bed with a to-do list a mile long and smile at the infinite opportunity granted to you. Create ridiculous standards for yourself and then savor the inevitable failure. Learn from it. Live it. Let the ground crack and rocks crumble around you because that’s ...how something amazing grows, through the cracks." "It’s the perpetual pursuit of fulfilling our ideal selves that grants us happiness, regardless of superficial pleasures or pain, regardless of positive or negative emotions." https://markmanson.net/stop-trying-to-be-happy
11.01.2022 AHHHH Take me back . Anyone want to come? It was an incredible few days out on the Ivanhoe Rd. I still tell the stories of the hours out there. Face-to-face stand-offs with massive male grey kangaroos who didn't quite know what to do with a chica in a skirt running along their road. The hilarious jokes by the road-train drivers offering to stash me in the back, 'no one will know the difference'. The fact that we couldn't get 4 separate distance measuring tools to agree (Australia's Bermuda triangle) and the wonderful conversations with locals who wrapped us up in so much love. Hmmm my feet are getting itchy.
11.01.2022 A picture may paint a thousand words but only the eyes will ever tell the whole story. Thank you to everyone who has helped keep the light in my eyes over the last while. I've started writing 'the book' again today. There is a story that's yearning to be told. #wildwomen #certainty #lifejourney #soulsisters #writer #onemomentatatime
11.01.2022 Have you experienced abuse because you've chosen to exercise outside? It seems to be more common, or perhaps I am hearing about it more. A running friend shared with me her story of the abuse she received on Facebook. She had been running on the trails near her home. Her actions complied with the health order in her state. She posted a photo and her newsfeed filled with comments like "you're selfish", "your actions are thoughtless". The rationale of her abusers focused on t...he logic that, by being out on the trails, she is more at risk of injury. In their minds that put more pressure on health workers. She was more likely to end up in hospital, and 'spiking the curve'. Australian Bureau of Statistics data tells a very different story. - Injury accounts for only 1 in 20 hospital separations - 55% of those happened on or around a home (various types of workplaces also made major contributions) source: 4825.0.55.001 - Injury in Australia: A Snapshot, 2004-05 (p.s. The photo is far from my home and not recent ;). I snapped it when trail running in Bogota a few years ago. I had to walk past armed guards and through a gate to enter the trail. Armed soldiers patrolled many sections of the trail.)
11.01.2022 Hopefully you have all seen this by now and signed up. The registration fees will be held in the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust until the family have establishe...d the charity. From what I understand, it will focus on educating children about family violence. This initiative has been started by two of your fellow RAVers - Tracey and Skye (I can't tag them for some reason). Massive kudos to them. Lets all get behind this. Kirrilyx See more

05.01.2022 I have a question for all the LADIES out there who love to chase BOLD GOALS... Which of the following behaviours occasionally (or maybe frequently) derail your plans: 1. Can't get off the lounge or get started... 2. Everything becomes too big, overwhelming 3. Lose enthusiasm, mojo drains away 4. Get stuck on fine detail, perfectionism 5. Anxiety, not feeling good enough 6. Can't find the time, other people demand too much 7. Mother guilt, #beingselfish guilt 8. Any others? Type your answers in the comments below, you can have more than one. If you're up for it, please share some of the details. Let's see how universal these behaviour patterns are. It's been a while since I had these sorts of challenges, but 4 and 5 were definitely my 'go-to' derail methods. Actually, add 3 to that list as well. Kx

02.01.2022 A woman, new to trail running, asked me an interesting question the other day. How can I be so blase about snakes when running in the bush in summer? I answered her that I'm not. There are some risk-reducing habits that I developed a long time ago. I'm alert but not alarmed. I then shared those with her. Today, memories of the conversation returned to me when running along a trail. It occured to me that maybe those same tips might be useful to other new runners. 01.01.2022 This snippet is from a video discussion in the Go-Getters Facebook group. To join the group you first need to complete the Diagnostic Quiz (Free!) - https://www.ggcompass.com/pages/go-getter-grade-quiz I no longer experience nervousness at a debilitating level. I get funny little pinches of it occasionally but the days of sweaty palms are gone. I am more creative, more productive and happier than I have been in decades. In the full version of this video I explore:... >> Teaching young people responsibility (I'd love your thoughts on this one!) >> When we own our emotions, our fears and who we are, we increase our ability to respond (response-ability) >> The day self-doubt flared up and bit me on the arse - I totally sucked at an important moment >> Nerves and excitement are very different feelings - lots of people confuse them and it erodes their performance >> Nervousness exists when there is a gap between who you are and what you are doing >> How to use the points of the Go-Getter's Compass to close that gap.
01.01.2022 The risk is real. The fear is not. I know I have a different relationship with risk and fear than most women. It is the separation of the two that makes me unstoppable. Yesterday's adventure provided the perfect example. My mate Margie and I spent four hours rock-hopping and bush-bashing in a remote gully - no trails, no footsteps to follow. ... Our adventure yesterday was high risk, and should only be attempted by people with appropriate knowledge, experience and fitness. It's successful completion required us to meticulously manage that risk. Many women see a risk and wrap it up in an thick blanket of fear, which distorts their worldview and destroys their ability. At no stage yesterday did we experience fear. I know many women in the same situation would have been catatonic with it. In its place was a mind-blowing trip into the deep heart of nature.
01.01.2022 They're rather beautiful, aren't they? In January 2020, there was no way I could ever have imagined I would be excited to own a pair of these. That's the thing with imagination, it's very limited. It only really draws on the information and ideas that we hold in our conscious minds. The stuff we 'think' is important to us.... Quite often that consciousness or alertness to particular details is fear-driven. Fear of missing out, fear of not being good enough, fear of what other people will think. Fear will only ever lead us down the wrong path or stop us dead in our tracks. It's been 30 years since I've lived with horses and I had forgotten the pure joy that it brings when I work closely with them. If I had pursued the 'dreams' I had constructed for 2020, I wouldn't be here in this happy, deeply fulfilling place. I've arrived here because I chose to follow the joy rather than to pursue my dreams. It has delivered me to a place that is beyond my imagining.
