24.01.2022 Extremely excited to be a part of the Saddle Fit Solutions team. My horses are feeling fantastic in their new Equipe saddles

24.01.2022 It's been a while since I have ridden my horses due to a few different reasons. Today Ella and I decided to try the toilet paper challenge. Calisto was my trusty steed for the job, he is only 6 years old and has not been ridden in over 6 weeks. What a good kid. Bloopers in the next post

24.01.2022 Thanks to everyone that came last Friday to the grid work and gymnastics afternoon. You all did so well, I'm looking at possibly doing another this Friday before school goes back. If you would be interested could you please comment below or pm me so I can get an idea if there would be enough numbers. Thanks!

Please do not come to your lesson if you fit the following criteria: - Are infected with COVID-19 - Believe they may be infected with COVID-19 - Believe they have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days -Travelled internationally within the last 14 days Stay safe everyone. Thankfully we can keep enjoying our horses during this time.

22.01.2022 Home from my time in Victoria and back in action this week. Unfortunately it wasn't the run I was looking for. With everything happening at home I was looking forward to getting away and enjoying myself. Unfortunately it wasn't to be, and I ended up in hospital on the Saturday of the first weekend. I may have ridden in the 1.40m that morning, in an extreme amount of pain After being convinced to go to Rosebud hospital I was transferred to Frankston. Long story short I have... a Pericardial Effusion, so not allowed to do much at all until it settles down. Just a massive thank you to the Holland, Butel, Harm families and Bec Towler for keeping my horses happy whilst I was confined. A special mention to mum for having to do so much work with them also. Quick pic of Justine Streater's beautiful mare Bella Bonita that i got to compete once, thanks for the opportunity though plus Polly keeping things under control whilst I was in hospital obviously. It was extremely disappointing not being able to compete but unfortunately nothing could be done. Hopefully 2020 will be a little kinder to us in all departments Lessons are still on and I look forward to catching up with everyone and thank you all for being so understanding. Thanks to my sponsors for making it that little bit easier Equalize Equine Therapy Equico Studios your support is greatly appreciated.

21.01.2022 It's that time of year when little children are writing to Santa, so I thought this appropriate for all those little (or now grown) horsey girls.

20.01.2022 Very excited to have Chris Holland named on the Australian Young Rider team. Congratulations to Chris and the other lovely riders selected. Good luck for the competition!

20.01.2022 Super excited for Chris Holland to be the winner of the rising star award for jumping. Well done Chris. At the beginning of this year Chris also represented Australia in New Zealand with consistent results. Go Team

20.01.2022 One of my young adult riders walked into the arena the other day and asked me is it OK if I watch you ride for a little bit? YES. YES YES YES. Watch me ride, ...watch other people ride, ask questions, audit lessons, eavesdrop ringside on other coaches. This is an expensive sport. We can’t lie about that, but what is constantly perplexing to me is why people are not taking advantage of all the free instruction available. It costs nothing to watch your trainer teach everyone else in your barn, and I promise you that no matter what level they are, watching their lesson will be helpful. Not sitting and texting next to the arena, not trying to talk to your trainer about your own horse while they are teaching, not offering commentary on what’s happening in the arena, but actually watching the entire lesson with your eyeballs and listening with your ears. It also costs nothing to watch somebody ride. Ask them why they are doing things, be open to learning new strategies. I promise you, your trainer will not mind and would probably love to discuss with you their training theories. I’ll get off my soapbox now. #trainerrant

17.01.2022 Elysian Fields How lucky we are to be able to jump our horses on such a wonderful surface. Thank you to everyone who made this show possible. I was absolutely stoked with my horses. They all jumped their hearts out for me over the weekend. ... Vakarra Calisto was the star, he jumped clean and quick in the 1.20m on Saturday to finish just out of the placings in 7th, he then backed it up with a win in the Future Stars class on Sunday. It is so exciting to have bred, broke and produced this lovely horse from day 1. Golden child keeps his number 1 spot. Vakarra Cayerado just jumped on the Saturday for a clear in the 1.20m to finish 9th .5 seconds behind Calisto. Fast Class! Tulara Stolensky jumped a 4 fault round in the 1.20m on Saturday but finished 2nd in a very fast 1.25m championship class on Sunday. Vakarra Checkassini was super and jumped some lovely rounds in the 1.10m and 1.15m classes. Forever grateful to my amazing sponsors for their support. 08.01.2022 To maintain a correct upper body position in the corners Imagine you are balancing on an exercise ball. If you lean your torso into a turn, your seat bones wil...l push the ball (horse) in the opposite direction. To help the horse balance, keep your spine straight and use your shoulders to turn. Your seat bones will follow. Try it on a ball, it works! Jane Kelly Illustration by Sandy Rabinowitz Have a Solutions idea? Send it to us at [email protected]!

08.01.2022 A nice reminder before the season starts. This is written by Annette Paterakis who is the author of the book Keep Calm and Enjoy the Ride. A book that I have found helpful for both myself and my students. Time to read it again I think.

08.01.2022 Seems fitting to have Eugene on the Christmas gift vouchers. What else would you want for Christmas

07.01.2022 Danswaltz 16.2hh 2009 unraced Thoroughbred Gelding. Dj has been with the same family for three years now, he is very well educated on the flat with laterals, changes and counter canter all well established. He has competed up to 1.20m showjumping with success. He has also been taken to some cross country schooling days and was very brave, this would make him the ultimate eventer. He has been ridden by a teenage girl for the last three years and has a nice soft mouth. He was ...never officially raced and is more on the slower side, he does need to be moved along in his canter. He is eligible for the thoroughbred sport horse bonuses and is very quick against the clock. Please pm for more information.

07.01.2022 Some nice exercises to keep you busy. Which exercise will you be trying?

06.01.2022 Two spots left for this Friday grid and gymnastics. Working on rideability and balance. Pm me for a spot. I'll also be home Saturday for lessons.
