14.01.2022 The last few weeks have been extremely challenging to say the least. My thoughts are very much with everyone that has been so badly affected by COVID-19. From colleagues across different areas the industry that have been stood down, hotel staff that have had their resorts temporarily shut down, to my wonderful clients, who have had to cancel or postpone upcoming trips, weddings & honeymoons. ... Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought that we would be in the situation that we all currently find ourselves in. As an industry, we have worked tirelessly, repatriating clients as flights were cancelled, with governments rapidly closing airports and borders, to managing an influx of cancelled tours, hotels and flights for travel over the coming months. I’ve assisted people that hadn’t booked through me because they were overseas, desperate to get home again and unable to get through to airlines or online booking agents. If anything, these few weeks have shown just how valuable travel advisors really are. Here are just a few of the reasons why: We’re not internet sites or online booking engines - if something goes wrong, there is often nobody to physically speak to We are knowledgeable and well trained in what we do We use the same booking systems as the airlines with live availability on flights We can hold seats and ticket later We can hold waitlists We know the tricks We will answer the phone We will call you back We have relationships with industry representatives who will go above and beyond to assist in a crisis We have a pool of hundred’s of industry colleagues with so many years of experience across all platforms We have access to experiences you may have never dreamed of! Airports and borders may be currently closed, and my business may be quiet for a while, but it won't stay like this for ever. Restrictions will lift & planes will be back in sky.
