24.01.2022 So we have made some glazes of our own, & completed our first Line Blend. Will post the results soon. @emroachpottery

22.01.2022 It's a turning type of day... #pottery #potterylife #ceramics #ceramicart #potteryfun #throwing #potterylovers #potterytechniques #pottersofinstagram

22.01.2022 So happy to throw again today. Love getting my hands on some clay again

22.01.2022 IMPORTANT Facebook has changed Notifications for ALL groups again. They have automatically switched members of most groups to receive Highlights instead of All Posts. This means that you will only see about one in ten posts on the groups you’re in! (Even if you’ve updated this in the past) To change these settings go to the group page (you have to do this for every group you’re in)... 1. click the 3 dots on the top right of the GROUP HOME page....or if on a mobile device click on the dots at the top right of your screen 2. Click Manage Notifications setting 3. Change from Highlights to All Posts. I checked my settings a bunch of my groups and sure enough, ‘highlights’ was selected. You might want to check your settings for this and any other group you’re in. See more

21.01.2022 Making glazes today. Getting ready to glaze fire tomorrow #pottery #glazingpottery #glazing #potterylife

21.01.2022 Playing with some new colours in a midfire. Terrible camera work LOL, but loving the colours #pottery #potteryfun #ceramics #coolcolours #colours #glazing #midfire #clay #amacoglazes

21.01.2022 To all my fellow Potters out there

21.01.2022 Love a good memory. 7 years ago when I had just started setting up my home studio space. My then 5 year old wanted to learn to throw on the wheel, so he popped on his apron & of course the hat that matched. Adorable, miss those days. BTW he's now 12 & still loves to get on the wheel #pottery #potterylife #throwing #wheelthrowing #ceramics #potterykids

20.01.2022 I was lucky enough to have one of my pots selected to exhibit in the Friends on Show Exhibition at Hazelhurst Gallery. I am good company @studio_dirt , & there are so many beautiful artworks on display. Mine is the blue & turquoise bottle on the far right, which I am happy to say, sold today. #raku #pottery #artexhibition

18.01.2022 Throwing a simple cylinder for your entertainment LOL #pottery #potterylife #throwing #wheelthrowing #clay #ceramics #ceramicart #potteryfun

16.01.2022 Doing my first glaze firing in my new to me kiln. Hopefully we'll get to 1300c ^10. We're just shy of 1200c in 12hrs, so fingers crossed #glazingpottery #potterylife #pottery #glazing #highfire #shesgettinghotinthere

16.01.2022 Gotta love a red dot!!! This means my pot has sold at the exhibition. Yay!

14.01.2022 Checking out our glaze results. Learnt so much. Can't wait to start making our own pots of gorgeousness. @emroachpottery @robertlinigen

14.01.2022 First night firing last night. Excited to open up the kiln & see how we went with reduction this time. Certainly much easier to see the flame at night #nightfiring #reductionfiring #pottery @emroachpottery #fingerscrossed #stonewareglazefiring

13.01.2022 Hey all, I have been a bit slack in taking photo's of my work recently, so I have just uploaded a bunch of pics in my Stoneware Album for you to check out. Just for a giggle, this was me after many hours with my crazy hair inside my photo box. LOL Thanks for taking the time xxx

12.01.2022 All set up & ready to sell some pots

12.01.2022 My heart breaks https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159616047853079&id=702513078

12.01.2022 This is some footage from f Balmoral Village after the fires. You can clearly see Steve & Janine's property & how lucky they were to still have their home (18-34 sec). My heart breaks to see their pottery where I have enjoyed raku & woodfirings on many occasions. A GoFundMe page has been set up for them & I will post the link in the comments for anyone who wishes to contribute. https://mobile.abc.net.au//nsw-bushfires-balmora/11821400

11.01.2022 Yay!!! So after 14hrs of firing, & 19hrs cooling down, we have success. Some of the colours were a little different to what I expected, but in a most fabulous way. Some of these pots are a friends too, so I cannot take credit for the decoration & form. Nonetheless I am very happy with my first glaze firing in this kiln. #glazingpottery #glazing #potterylife #pottery #happypotter #colours

11.01.2022 Just delivered a small commission to a local cafe. Look out for my wee piccolo cups

11.01.2022 Test results are in!!! We are happy, even though results are a bit unclear due to our usual kiln issue with uneven reduction. So some tiles reduced, some did not. It looks like we can get reduction & oxidation in the same firing LOL. In spite of this, we are loving some of the purples, & will definitely try to reproduce these. We know have a better idea of what to do next time & placement in our kiln. Always learning. @emroachpottery @emroach72 Thanks @robertlinigen for giving us the knowledge & tools to start our glazing journey

10.01.2022 My entries & I in the 50th Port Hacking Potter's Competition. Some gorgeous ceramics on display. Well worth a visit for anyone in Sydney. On until 30th October

10.01.2022 So today I did one of my favourite things Another Raku firing! I just love the process of getting the raku kilns up to temperature by burning wood, then taking the pots out red hot at around 1000c & burying the pots in a combustible (this time sawdust). Will post better photos tomorrow, but here are a few for now.

10.01.2022 Learning loads about glazing & testing using Line Blending, with @emroachpottery @robertlinigen Plus some of Roberts gorgeous pots & his glazes #glazing #glazetesting #newcolours @ Thirroul, New South Wales Robert Linigen Emma Roach

09.01.2022 So in spite of the rain, & negotiating a truck & a pallet truck, I am more than a little excited to welcome this little beauty home. Once she is all connected up, I know she will get plenty of use, & I will be pretty much self sufficient in my garage studio space. My gorgeous hubby has just given up some more space in our garage, though he has reserved a corner for his work bench. His support for me & my pottery addiction is nothing short of spectacular. #electrickiln #pottery #potterylife #kiln #ceramics

08.01.2022 Here is today's blog from Steve. :-( I have so many happy memories myself, of their property & was in awe of his wonderful pottery & kiln workshop. I feel so blessed to have been able to participate in so many firings there & to be the owner of one of Steve's kilns. So sad. https://tonightmyfingerssmellofgarlic.com//12/23/a-bad-day/

08.01.2022 Soooo, when you decide to do a clean up & sort out, & you discover you have WAY more pots than you thought you did! And this doesn't include what's in the house & what I still have to glaze

08.01.2022 Steve's most recent post. Anyone who wishes to donate, the link is on the blog. https://tonightmyfingerssmellofgarlic.com//12/31/burnt-out/

08.01.2022 Bit of fun making today, hopefully can get them dry so I can put them in my first bisque firing this weekend #pottery #potterylife #clay #throwing

07.01.2022 Fired up our fabulous portable gas kiln yesterday. We had made our first Chun glaze from scratch so it is always exciting anticipating how the pots will turn out, but frustrating waiting for the kiln to cool down enough to open up. Here is a sneaky peak of the results. Some I like, some I love. I'll post better pics of my pots tomorrow. Some are the gorgeous work of Emma & Gail. Such a shame we lost a shelf though.

06.01.2022 This would be fantastic to win.

04.01.2022 My amazing pottery teacher & friend Steve, & his lovely wife Janine have lost their pottery, kiln factory & other buildings on their property yesterday. Incredibly, their house survived & so did Steve. I've enjoyed their hospitality, & beautiful facilities many times & am the proud joint owner of one of Steve's dual fuel portable kilns, & am devastated for them. Once they have had time to regroup, I'm hoping to help in any way I can. https://tonightmyfingerssmellofgarlic.com//ground-zero-to/

04.01.2022 Here is a closer look at yesterday's lovelies. I'm really pleased. Thank you for all of your likes & comments. I'm so flattered & appreciate them all xxx #rakufiring #pottery #colours #raku #ceramics

04.01.2022 Teamwork achieving alot in one day. Helping lifting & stacking the pavers that were the floor of Steve & Janine's pottery. Heartbreaking to see the devastation of these fires close up. Still a long way to go.

04.01.2022 So many have been affected by these fires. This has been posted by Australian Ceramics for anyone wishing to donate to the many potter's who have lost so much https://www.australianceramics.com//01/06/fire-news-jan-20

04.01.2022 Very excited & proud to be firing my students work (plus a couple of my own). It will be an exciting week for them bringing their first pots home. #pottery #potterylife #ceramics #coolcolours #kiln #electrickiln #glazingpottery #glazetesting #beginnerpotter #givepotteryatry #potteryfun

04.01.2022 Happy with the results from our first night firing. We have decided that we need to go into reduction earlier next time, but we are certainly improving every time. I will post more photos once I pull out my photo booth

04.01.2022 Love glaze testing. Seeing the results on different clay bodies. Thank you @robertlinigen for sharing your expertise. Thank you @___claysydney___ for hosting the class at your wonderful venue #coolcolours #glazetesting #potterylife #potterytechniques #pottery #potteryfun #glazingpottery #glazing #midfire #clay #givepotteryatry #colours

02.01.2022 A few pics of the new colours I get to play with. #pottery #potterylife #ceramics #coolcolours #glazetesting #handmade #handmadepottery #midfire #electrickiln #happypotter #glazingpottery #potterylovers

02.01.2022 Finishing off the pot I made a few weeks ago. Turning might not be as fun to watch, but it's nice finessing the final shape.

02.01.2022 A loosely packed bisque firing today. Would have liked to put in more pots, but ran out of time to throwany more. Fingers crossed it will all be fired well once it's cooled down.

02.01.2022 Blimey, this is the makeshift kiln that saved Steve's life

01.01.2022 So proud of my gorgeous students. After only 5 weeks of throwing & turning lessons, they've made all of these. Now for some glazing fun #pottery #ceramics #potterylife #clay #throwing #potterylife #beginnerpotter
