24.01.2022 We have a team going back to Kisoro Uganda in August. It includes an addiction specialist and a mental health educator who will be delivering a seminar on those topics. There will be 2 local people who will be helping with the seminar. An amazing lady Immaculate who is one of the 2 mental health nurses at the main hospital in Kisoro. She is very skilled in her profession working with limited Psychiatric support and equipment yet extremely competent and compassionate. Amos will also be assisting. He is being sponsored through the Kisoro Project to complete his training as a clinical psychiatric officer. Another dynamic personality very passionate about mental health and helping his local people understand more about it. There will be more information on the trip coming in the next few days.

15.01.2022 Another fun day at Mittagong Markets. There was plenty of interest and appreciation of the hard work and talent in making the paper beaded jewellery and bags. Another happy lady with her precious necklace! Thanks
15.01.2022 Selling these remarkable paper beaded craft at Mittagong markets this weekend. Plans are under way to teach the Batwa women to make the bags and the men to make the handles. All money raised from the sale of the jewellery go back to the Batwa projects. There is hope on the horizon for their future.

13.01.2022 A tiny snippet of the FIRST Mental Health Drug and Alcohol seminar in Kisoro Uganda. It is still in progress. This is an encouraging outcome for the local professionals who attended, the local people who will benefit and The Kisoro Project.
12.01.2022 Defying the weather again along with brave Christmas shoppers appreciating the wonderful paper beaded craft from Kisoro Uganda. The profits go back to the Batwa community. So many great recycling ideas from the Mittagong community for the Batwa to make.

07.01.2022 It has been too long since putting out a Facebook post. The Kisoro Project is a small NGO with commitment to the wellbeing of the Batwa community of Kisoro in Southwest Uganda. We have recently joined with Compassion Uganda to support 5 Batwa families. This includes agriculture business for the adults.... School and school uniforms for the children. Health screenings for the families and more. TKP has employed an overseer for agricultural production in the Mikingo Batwa Village. With Covid -19 restrictions impacting the Kisoro community at large as well as the Batwa, TKP is sending money for food parcels and other areas of welfare. The loss of tourism has meant loss of jobs. Grocery prices have escalated and while the Ugandan Gov. promises to feed the unemployed it has been slow to deliver. 07.01.2022 The Kisoro Project is linking in with a missionary ( Ryan) living in Kisoro. He has designed sustainable portable housing for the Batwa. The Kisoro Project plans to fund the building of the houses. The first house will be completed in March 2019. Our deputy chairman Syd will be visiting Kisoro in March. He will be able to inspect the building to hopefully approve the construction of the rest. ... Syd is a licensed builder so he is the right person to rubber stamp this initiative. See more
06.01.2022 Finally With help of other stall holders The Kisoro Project stall has a roof! To those beautiful women that make this craft please know how appreciated your work is. People love the colours and skill in making the beads from paper. You are appreciated and admired.

Congratulations to Kisoro Project Committee chairman Roger Ellem for managing to set this up through talks with Mayor Kirk.
02.01.2022 The sun is shining however the wind jealously keeps pushing us around. Mittagong markets Southern Highlands NSW
02.01.2022 This is the Batwa village and the Batwa families that prompted the formation of The Kisoro Project. However the project is not wanting sympathy as much as people with skills to add to the tools box the Batwa can access. It was a privilege to listen to their dreams and wishes. Number one on the mens wish list is education for their children. John 16:24 Jesus said "ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete".
