03.01.2022 UPDATE! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has donated items and $$ so far. I am so impressed with the quality and condition of the items and so very proud of being part of this community <3 However, we still need more stuff, so please have a rummage through your cupboards and sheds for sleeping bags, Dome tents, warm socks, roll out foam mattresses, jumpers, jackets. We are also accepting snacks e.g. muesli bars, cans of tuna, chocolate bars, juice boxes -... things that can be eaten on the go and doesn't need heating and cutting etc. I am also after grannie trolleys/shopping trolleys or other practical trolleys to carry all the warm goods when handing it out. Let me know if you have one that you don't use. If you are interested in helping handing out the donations to the rough sleepers of Brisbane, shoot me a message - the more hands the better :) Date of action is this Saturday 25 July from approx 5.30pm - ? I don't know about you, but I have been freezing these last few weeks. I am sitting in my cosy home with the heater on and at night I sleep in a warm bed and still I find myself whining about the cold...! 5800 people are homeless in Brisbane alone. The amazing humans @helpingthehomelessbrisba are doing a "Warm Goods" drop off to the cold HOMELESS Brisbanites in the next week or two. They are doing all the hard work and all we have to do is to look through our wardrobes and cupboards, and if you have any of the following items that you don't use/need, please pass them on to someone who has great need of it. The items needed are: Blankets Thick jumpers Beanies Warm socks Sleeping bags. Roll out camping style foam mattresses. Enclosed good condition Dome tents. Cash donations towards the above are also more than welcome - we are happy to produce receipts for the items purchased. You can drop off at Ferny Hills or I am happy to collect.
