23.01.2022 For every dollar that men make, women earn just 77 cents. This gap is even wider for women who are mothers. Supporting women and mothers to achieve sustainable livelihoods and demanding #EqualPay is the responsibility of all people. 20.01.2022 Sustainable livelihoods are much more than sources of income for women; they are meaningful, they are satisfying and they enable individuals and communities to meet their needs both now and into the future. They support resilience and allow women and their families to cope when faced with unforeseen shocks or stresses. Now, more than ever, women and girls need our help to achieve meaningful and satisfying livelihoods. #Livelihoods #KitCommunity #Sustainability #Impact

20.01.2022 Supporting women to achieve meaningful, satisfying and resilient livelihoods is essential for a transformed world benefitting not only them, but their families and communities as well! Over 60% of the submissions into our Innovation Challenge are initiatives that focus on improving livelihood opportunities for women and girls. Some focus on skill development, some on enhancing networks and others on time-saving technologies. We can't wait to see these intiatives grow! #inn...ovation #challenge #womeninbusiness #livelihoods #generationequality #sustainability #transformedworld Photo Credit: Rachel Glasby | The Silk Road for KIT International 2018, India.

19.01.2022 Not all that long ago, before lockdown began, the Year 12 students at St Mary's College teamed up with Zonta Club of Mt Barker to host a kit assembly day! We couldn't think of a better way to end a crazy year! Congratulations to the students on making it through and finishing school A big thank you to students, Taite and Sabrina, for providing us with an insight into their kit experience:... "During our Birthing Kit assembly session, we were extremely grateful to practically contribute to making a change. Collaborating with Zonta volunteers enabled us to appreciate the incredible work that the organisation does for women both locally and internationally. As a class, it was amazing to become involved in the final product, rather than detached fundraising. As young women, we feel extremely connected to Zonta's goals and the many initiatives they undertake. Zonta has inspired us to reflect on the amount of support pregnant women receive in developed countries compared to those who are less fortunate, deepening our understanding of the lack of federal support for such individuals. We have learnt many valuable lessons from their incredible work, and we feel so lucky to have been involved! After meeting the faces of the Zonta team, we feel that other schools would greatly benefit from involving themselves with such an incredible organisation, and to learn of the awe-inspiring work they do for so many." #volunteer #friends #FlashbackFriday #motherhood #community

19.01.2022 Thanks to the wonderful team at Bowden Print Group for brightening up our flyers

03.01.2022 Did you know that 26% of health facilities do not have basic access to water supply? And that 43% of facilities do not have hand hygiene stations at the point of care? Health care workers are the unsung heroes of everyday life, yet they often have to work in conditions that put their lives and the lives of those they care for at risk, simply due to low quality water supply, sanitation and hygiene facilities. Simple things like gloves, soap and sterile equipment, as included ...in our Clean Birth Kits, can support cleaner environments and help health care workers promote #patientsafety. 02.01.2022 "Breastfeeding provides every child with the best possible start in life. It delivers health, nutritional and emotional benefits to both children and mothers. And it forms part of a sustainable food system. But while breastfeeding is a natural process, it is not always easy.
