07.01.2022 At Kitahna our focus is engaging with people with disability to provide; daily activities, social inclusion, mentoring and life skills development support. Our services will empower you to have control in how you want to be supported. We are here to support you to meet your needs and ultimately help you to achieve your goals. Kitahna promotes equal rights, equal opportunity and equal access for people with disabilities, including freedom of expression, self-determination a...nd decision-making. Kitahna will predominately engage Aboriginal mentors who have a passion and commitment to humanitarian rights and disability equality. Kitahna services will have a focus on mentor matching to support people of Aboriginal background. This however does not stop a person having the choice to engage with Kitahna to meet their individual support needs. We work in partnership with Collabs Support to provide service and maintain compliance with NDIS Funding. Being Aboriginal owned, Kitahna understands the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the unique customs, beliefs and language which identifies each group. Effective support through a mentoring model for Aboriginal people with disability will develop mutual trust, empathy and respect. Kitahna is committed to facilitating the sharing of cultural experiences and cultural beliefs.
