24.01.2022 **Annoucement** **Kite Festival called off** Looking at the current weather situation at Don Lucas Reserve in Cronulla we’ve had to take this disappointing and unfortunate call this morning to call off the event at this stage. The prevailing conditions do not permit us to conduct any selling of kites, merchandise, food, drinks or any other items and/or conduct any other activities throughout the day. The weather is forecasted to get worse going forward today and it’s best that we make this announcement now. We are very disappointed to make this announcement but we are sure that it is understandable to everyone as it affects the safety of all the patrons & vendors and we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk. Thank you for your support.

15.01.2022 **Announcement** **Kite Festival called off** Looking at the current weather situation at Don Lucas Reserve, Cronulla and St Ives Showgrounds, St Ives, we’ve had to take this disappointing and unfortunate call this morning to call off the event at this stage. The prevailing conditions do not permit us to conduct any selling of kites, merchandise, food, drinks or any other items and/or conduct any other activities throughout the day. The weather is forecasted to get worse going forward today and tomorrow and it’s best that we make this announcement now. We are very disappointed to make this announcement but we are sure that it is understandable to everyone as it affects the safety of all the patrons & vendors and we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk. After great success of Kite Flying Festival at Castle Hill Showground ,our team is bringing this exciting Kite Fest event to Community of Cronulla and surrounds for the First time ever. Held as part of the City’s Summer Series of Free Entry, family-friendly, smoke-free and alcohol-free events, the Kite Flying Festival will give people the chance to experience a sea of colour as kites of all shapes and sizes fly above the foreshore. Kites featuring mermaids , Batman, superheroes, flying Fish, Dragons, Aliens, Lady Bug, elephants, Parrots, Butterflies and Lions will all take flight during the festival from Don Lucas Reserve . The event will include a varieties of fun and entertainment activities for all age groups.
