17.01.2022 The time has come for you to question what your media is telling you. It doesn’t apply to all journalism of course - there are good people working in media too ...- but for decades now there have been plenty of instances of inaccuracies. This is when your media: * gives you facts that are bent * words or edits their content to deliberately make you come to a certain conclusion * wraps truth in a lie * words the title in a way that is totally misleading to the detail * leaves out crucial details that would show you a very different picture * gives something completely opposite to the truth Much is designed to get a negative reaction out of you - anger, fear, trauma, sadness, empathy, prejudice, violence, hatred, judgement, anxiety, hopelessness. all these reactions have the potential to make you act in a way that gives them something to report tomorrow. You become the news. Simple formula really. In recent years media organisations have been removing their local journalists more and more. In the past, these journalists would go out to the site, take photos, interview people and then present their findings in the best way they could. Their name was on the top of the article. If they are no longer there to do the due diligence, then where are the articles coming from? Think about it. Why are the articles on multiple outlets almost exactly the same with just a few words spun differently? More than 90% of the media in USA is owned by just 6 companies - soon to be 5 as two of them are merging. Here in Australia we regurgitate what they give us without putting time into investigating their accuracies so it’s easy to spread misinformation at lightning speed. There’s a bloke with an orange face in America who has been screaming fake news for a few years now. Most people laugh at him. What if he’s right? What if your view of him has been carefully shaped by the media because they see him as a threat to their continuing manipulation of you? Each time you see something in the news, learn discernment. Develop your intuition/gut instinct and tune in to yourself. Ask Is this true? Is part of it true? If it doesn’t feel right, then stay impartial. Don’t fall for the crowd screaming that the sky is falling. Once we all learn discernment they will never be able to get away with this again.
