22.01.2022 This weekend the sky would have been filled with colour and magic at Redcliffe KiteFest. Due to COVID-19 we decided to cancel the 2020 event however we will be ...back next year with a bigger and better family festival. We look forward to bringing you the ultimate kids weekend again in 2021. We hope you can join us!

15.01.2022 ANZAC Day club fly. Very light variable southerly to start. Changed to easterly, and just strong enough to have a good FlyDay.

13.01.2022 Whale making workshop today. Successful day with all participants getting to inflation stage. Some to bridal stage. Test flight next week. One Kit still available.

13.01.2022 Remember when we used to make our own kites out of brown paper, wood and glue? I was watching the local TV news last night and one story was about a local kite ...festival. The TV pictures showed these beautifully coloured kites in all shapes and sizes, from flying animals and birds to planes and rocket ships. And I got to thinking about when we were kids how we made our own kites with just some brown paper stretched over a very simple frame and attached to a ball of string. It took 2 to launch the kite if I remember correctly, one holding it off the ground and the other running like crazy until you caught the wind. Remember making your own kite? See more

13.01.2022 Club members had a good day flying kites today. Cloudy with wind.

12.01.2022 Thanks to Totally Wild who filmed us flying today. The segment should be on in a couple of months. Big thank to Neil and Mal who helped out. The wind died just as the totally wild Crew showed up but lucky it returned to finish off filming

12.01.2022 Tough day in the office today. Very light winds with constant change of directions. Still got some kite up and everyone enjoyed the day.

12.01.2022 Wow!!! There a reason we sometime tell people to clear of our big kites. Glad she is ok.

12.01.2022 There’s been a major event on today at Pelican Park. Our intrepid kite flies have gone looking for fresh fields and I currently located near the corner of Telegraph Rd and Denham St, Fitzgibbon. The wind is starting to come up and we have some kites in the air.

09.01.2022 Good day out, till.....

08.01.2022 Our new Croc starred on totally wild.

07.01.2022 While it isn’t a formal fly day (5th Sunday) and our fly days are cancelled for the moment (COVID-19) some members still scratched their kite flying itch here at Pelican Park. Good social distancing measures were observed. All types of smaller kites today, the fur-baby attended as well. Light wind to challenge!... Soon we will be able to meet formally again. (We hope).

04.01.2022 Memories..... perfect day, perfect wind. #portdouglas

04.01.2022 Nothing like seeing a kite up close and personal to build an interest. One of our members, Curly, loves sharing his kite passion with others! We are flying today at Pelican Park and the breeze is currently being just about perfect!

04.01.2022 Something a little quirky... (credit unknown)

03.01.2022 We are starting to see an increase in the amount of people/companies attempting to copy our kites to sell. They are also targeting many other designers from ar...ound the world. In some cases they are even taking the photos off their pages, and saying they have made them. It take alot of time and money to develop a new design, it is far cheaper to copy. We appreciate all the support from our kiting family around the world. If you see copies please email them to let them know they are hurting all of us, and hindering the chance of new designs in the future. Thankyou for your support!! #supportthemakersnotthefakers See more

02.01.2022 Today was our first official kite flying day at Hervey Bay Sports Precinct. The wind was blowing from the South and not to bad earlier in the morning. We put a ...few smaller single line kites in the air, then the wind got stronger so we put up the lifter with a big octopus, whale shark and the humpback whale attached to the line, everything flew high and was good to see. Thank you to the local members for being there and a big thank you to members from Kites Queensland for coming from Brisbane to be here with us. See more
