17.01.2022 Happy 5th Anniversary to us! Wow, 5 years! From our humble beginnings of two sisters straight out of uni, with zero knowledge on hospitality or how to run a business... Kith 'n' Chow was just a little food truck project because 1. Andy our dad next door wanted some breakfast items for his coffee customers and 2. we loved eating food so much, we thought why not? Needless to say it's been a whirlwind of a year for us here at KnC. Must admit we have had plenty of ups and dow...ns this past year but we're so proud and happy to still be up and running despite all the obstacles we're still facing. For us, everything is starting to become a bit of a shambles; from out of stock produce, limits being introduced, increased prices, suspended deliveries and supplies, a decline in customers... however at Kith 'n' Chow we are doing the best we can given the circumstances and the unknown future of the hospitality industry. We'...re reaching out to inform you that our cafe is still open for business, and will continue to do so until instructed by government. We are a small business but still have a number of staff that rely on us to make ends meet, and want to do our utmost best for them, for as long as we can. Rest assured we are fully committed to the health and safety of everyone, and have implemented extra measures to keep both staff and customers as safe as possible - however, (and I'm sure you've heard this a million times now!) please stay home if you feel even slightly under the weather. 12.01.2022 Guess who's power went out 10 minutes before service started, on what's considered the busiest day of the year in hospitality? Guess who also had a chockablock full schedule of pre-orders every 15 minutes from open til close? Before crashing tonight we just wanted to acknowledge our dream team today, despite this major majorrr disruption they all soldiered on and battled it out with a borrowed power cord from next door, a gas stove, a little convection oven, eskies and... ice bags. Running around tirelessly doing the best they could given the circumstances. We're so grateful to work with such an amazing crew! Also a big thank you to Aaron from Watts Good Electrical, who rocked up as soon as he had woken up and heard our panicked voicemails He managed to get it all fixed and back up and running at 11.30am! Lastly we want to thank our beautiful customers for their ongoing support and encouragement. The response for this weekend and our specials were absolutely heart-warming and overwhelming. We've worked tirelessly the past few days and nights as this was our first time doing this style of take-away and we had no idea what we were in for. Nevertheless, we hadn't been this excited/ nervous in awhile, especially with this virus that has been going around causing havoc for everyone. So thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! 06.01.2022 Hi everyone! Hope you are all well and staying safe (and sane) during this time. In the foreseeable weeks/months ahead, there may come a time where certain ingredients and produce will be limited and/or unavailable for the time being. As many businesses continue to slow down and shut during this incredibly difficult time, it has created a domino effect where lack of produce has started to impact our suppliers (and therefore us, and then you guys as our customers) E.g we hav...e been unable to order any more of our usual chorizo as they seem to have temporarily closed, and so we have had to change it to a different brand for now. We are doing the best we can given the circumstances, and will strive to keep everything the same both in terms of price and quality. Although business has dropped 70% since the new restrictions were implemented, we are soldiering on and keeping our heads held high. We love and appreciate the incredible support from everyone, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts! The kitchen crew have been throwing around new food ideas lately, and we hope you'll continue to support us as we try some new things over the next few weeks. 02.01.2022 TAKING BOOKINGS FOR DINE-IN. We have started taking reservations for breakfast at Kith 'n' Chow, with some covid restrictions and guidelines in place until things return back to normal. Please Facebook message us prior to the requested day if possible, as calls/ trying to organise bookings on the day tends to be difficult in the middle of service. *Full name, phone and address to be provided upon booking for contact tracing. This information will need to be kept on file ...for at least 56 days. *Dishes will be served in disposable packaging, with communal items on the table no longer available. *There is a current time limit of 75 mins per table, please understand this is in place to give as many customers a chance to dine in, especially on the weekends as we have very limited capacity. *We kindly request that all diners purchase a meal and drink. *Please notify us as soon as possible if bookings need to be cancelled. We have had a couple of no shows with no call or message, which ruins it for everyone as we have to turn away a number of other customers to cater for the booking. We believe this should be common courtesy especially during these difficult times, where we are capped at 20 customers instead of the usual 50+ people we can fit. We apologise in advance for these rules in place. We are doing the best we can given the circumstances, whilst trying to keep our menu prices the same although our outgoings are a lot higher than it was pre-covid!
