24.01.2022 Over the last few weeks, the Nursery children have been exploring many different sensory painting opportunities. After some feedback from one of their Nursery families, they decided to extend on one of their home experiences of using Jelly and turned it into a sensory play experience! This was loads of squishy fun, allowing the children to explore their senses by tasting, touching and smelling the Jelly. Once they were finished getting all sticky and messy, they cooled and washed off with some bubbly water play.

24.01.2022 We had dress up week last week at Kitiwah! Here are some of our super cute Pre-Kindy friends all dressed up as their favourite characters!

20.01.2022 Our Toddies enjoy keeping each other safe! One of our clever little friends created what we though was a tall tower until she went over to her friends, pointed it at their forehead and said Beep This encouraged some more friends to also create thermometers to check temperatures and ensure that all their friends were feeling nice and healthy!

17.01.2022 Last Wednesday Pre-Kindy spent their morning picking mandarins and tomatoes from our very own trees down at the bottom oval, to extend on this experience that Pre-Kindy loved so much they decided to do some gardening of our own! They decided to sprout some chia seeds! They dug our own soil from our gardens, they then watered the soil to make it perfect to then add our chia seeds in They can’t wait to see them sprout!

16.01.2022 With Easter approaching, we invited Cooper E’s Mum, Kym, to ice and decorate some Easter biscuits with us today. Kym has her own small business called Kymbo’s Cookies. We got to pipe the icing on, spread it all over our Easter biscuit shapes and decorate them with Sprinkles. This was a practical life experience, and we love & encourage parent participation as a sense of connection.

16.01.2022 Continuing on with their Science Week interest, today the Toddler White explored the wonders of shaving foam and colour. The Toddlers thoroughly enjoyed squeezing colour into the pipettes and into the foam creating colourful prints which are on display in their room. As you can see, the Toddlers were delighted with this intentional teaching experience, actively participating with awe and wonder.

09.01.2022 In Kindy White, their focus has been ever emerging on a community emergency service unit. Today saw their children learn and become Firefighters. With lots of stories shared and home corner turned into a police/fire and ambulance station, the dramatic play begins. The Kindy White dressed up as firefighters and even engaged in a unique sensory activity demonstrating how they could put a fire out. Using a small trough and little farmhouse, they used shaving cream to coat the barn and then sprayed yellow and red water all over the house. They also had plain water in water bottles to spray the fire foam away. It was a wonderful aesthetic sensory experience to foster their learning. We love the the passion and creativity from our wonderful educators!

06.01.2022 On Monday we had seniors from Lutheran Service’s ‘Moving Moments’ program come to Kitiwah for the morning! For those of you who may be unfamiliar with ‘Moving Moments’, it’s a wonderful program that brings children and seniors together to share moments of joy and wonder. We are very excited to have been given the opportunity to host this at Kitiwah with our Pre-Preps every Monday morning. As you can see by our photos, our Pre-Preppies were more than happy to welcome our V...IP’s into their space! Our children spent time on Monday getting to know our new friends; Betty, Glenyce, Margaret, Cora, Dudley & June accompanied by Angela and Helena. Many sharing of stories, singing songs, building train tracks, playing puppets, doing arts and crafts, and reading books was enjoyed by all. Thank you for visiting us! Look forward to seeing our VIP’s next Monday morning. See more
