25.01.2022 With one of Kiwanis Mooroopna's main fundraisers catering at clearing sales, being on hold due to Covid, we donated 14 cartons of soft drink we had in stock to the Mooroopna Life Op Shop to use in the hampers they are making up.
24.01.2022 Australia District Governor Roy Seccafien presented his vision for 2020/21, we celebrated Peter's 45th year as a Kiwanis member, heard about some great projects... and the healthy competition between clubs in the Nebraska Iowa area and enjoyed the company of members from across Australia at our online meeting tonight. 17.01.2022 The official agreement between UNICEF, UNICEF USA and Kiwanis on The Eliminate Project ended December 31, 2020. The Kiwanis family raised and leveraged more ...than US$117 million dollars to fight Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus. With Kiwanis’ support, MNT has been eliminated in 27 countries . We are still working with the remain 12 countries Since the World Health Assembly called for the elimination of MNT in 1989, there has been a 96 percent drop in deaths. Millions of women now have access to prenatal health care, clean birthing environments and skilled birth attendants. None of the 27 countries that have eliminated MNT have gone back on the list. By choosing to help the poorest of the poor, Kiwanis sent a loud message that these women matter, and they deserve to give birth to healthy babies. See more

11.01.2022 A Shout Out to Ian Teague & Henry Kutek, members of the Kiwanis Club of Prospect, who are our maintenance volunteers at our accommodation units in Prospect. T...he decking on one of the much-loved cubbyhouses needed to be replaced to keep the play area safe for families who are staying on-site. Not only do we appreciate your handiwork, but we're also very grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Prospect for covering the costs of the repairs too. Having maintenance support nearby is a huge benefit to us to help keep the units in tip-top shape - thanks so much for your continued involvement.

10.01.2022 Vale - Tim Vine, President of Moorabbin Kiwanis Club. Tim's family has confirmed that the Funeral and Wake for our endeared friend Tim Vine will be held on: Date: Friday, 26 March 2021 Time: Funeral Service commencing at 11.00am followed by a Wake concluding at 3.00pm.... Venue: Bentleigh Club, 33 Yawla Street, Bentleigh The family would prefer that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the various special charities and causes that Tim had dedicated his support to throughout his life. Regrettably access to some of Tim’s extensive Kiwanis contact lists of friends and associates has not been readily available to his family at this time. If there is someone that you think may have been overlooked please pass this Funeral and Wake information on to them.
09.01.2022 Glenelg Club have found a way to raise some funds during this pandemic when their President, Alan Blakebrough, hit upon the idea of doing some publicity - the club designed a fridge magnet to remind people which coloured bin should be used for which type of rubbish, and from there Council got involved, and then asked if Glenelg club members would be interested in tendering to deliver their FOGO calendars for 2021. Glenelg club won the contract and have some much needed funds coming in to their bank account - so they can help in their community with children in need.
07.01.2022 Another Bunnings barbecue day for Glenelg club in 38 degree heat but we are so appreciative of Bunnings allowing us to raise funds in this way

05.01.2022 A message from Angela Randall, the Chair of Kiwanis/HeartKids and The HeartKids Team - thanks to our friends at MarketPlace Fresh, led by our generous and committed supporter Stephen Fanous, you can feel extra sweet about your purchase of strawberries this Sunday! Fresh, ripe strawberries are a classic Australian summer treat. For the 3rd year running, MarketPlace Fresh will donate to HeartKids the proceeds of all strawberry sales on HeartKids Strawberry Day, this Sunday 6t...h December. The funds raised will help us deliver vital support programs for children, teens and adults impacted by congenital heart disease. Make sure strawberries are on your menu this Sunday! You can enjoy this classic taste of Summer whilst directly helping the families of the 8 babies born every day with congenital heart disease. To support HeartKids Strawberry Day this Sunday 6th December visit any MarketPlace Fresh outlet. Each of their stores located in Oakleigh (NEW STORE) Docklands, Parkmore, Knox, Dandenong, Highpoint, Casey, Chirnside Park, Fountain Gate, Point Cook and Werribee will sell strawberries for HeartKids. As a special treat come down to their Oakleigh store to meet Jaidyn Stephenson, HeartKids Ambassador and AFL Star! He will be there between 11.30am and 1pm. Thank you for your support! The HeartKids Team I have been an Ambassador of HeartKids for the past 3 years and the first thing that stuck me was the unbelievable dedication and commitment of the Staff. Particularly the Support team who liaise directly with the children and parents contending with Childhood Heart Disease (CHD). "As an Adult Heart Kid myself I understand the uncertainty, anxiety and concerns all parents shareI know mine did when they found out and I am one of the lucky ones. Whether it is providing emotional and peer support, information, family-based activities or even financial assistance, the HeartKids team is always there when needed. Stephen Fanous and his team at MarketPlace Fresh have been outstanding supporters of not only HeartKids fundraising well over $300,000 in the last few years, but also of me personally through their involvement with my annual Lunch for the Kids as major sponsors."- Jaidyn Stephenson
03.01.2022 Centenary Christmas Carols last night celebrated 33 years. Kiwanis has been a part of this for as long as any of us can remember. It's always a pleasure to spe...nd time volunteering in our local community at this time of year. New restrictions and the extreme Queensland heat did not discourage over 2,000 enjoying the evening.
02.01.2022 Christmas Appeal underway. Kiwanis members spent the morning laminating hundreds of flyers for Hear and Say and Heartkids ready for their Christmas fundraiser through Drake Supermarkets. https://www.facebook.com/HearAndSay/

01.01.2022 Several clubs held Bunnings barbecues over this weekend. We will endeavour to find posts and show you their happiness at being able to start raising funds for children in need again. Here is the start of Glenelg's barbecue day, with other clubs to come......
01.01.2022 Membership numbers are very important to Kiwanis Clubs. I'm pleased to say that in the year 2019-2020 we "broke even" starting and ending with 802 members. As many know, this is fragile and it requires continual effort from all members to return to more than 1000 members, through our three strategies of building new clubs, growing existing clubs and retaining members. Support and resources are available.
