25.01.2022 For all my customers, and other people who are waiting for deliveries throughout the world, I have just received an update from DHL eCommerce. "Unfortunately our processing hub in Germany has a back log of shipments due to the current global situation affecting Spain. Our Hub is working through the back log as quickly as possible, your items to your consignee's will update shortly We ask that your consignee follow up regularly with the local postal network for the item as soon as possible as the destination country may have delivery changes to their network also. "

25.01.2022 I have a new theory. They want you to stay in doors, but they also say that fresh air is good for you. Therefore the obvious answer is to get in your car and go for a drive with the windows down. I also think if you drive very fast the Corona virus can't catch you.

24.01.2022 If you have been locked down and now spending time at home, this is a perfect time to de-stress and have some fun in your 'man cave'/garage/shed. DHL have assured me that there are no problems with their delivery service and I have lots of parts in stock. Now is a good time to get your head around your K-Jet fuel injection system. Pull it apart and understand why it does what it does. Lots of fun times ahead rather then being bored and frustrated. I am here to answer your questions.

24.01.2022 Had an enquiry from someone concerned about Ethanol in fuel. If you can buy fuel without Ethanol, you should, but in some places that is no longer an option. So what should you do? Ethanol can be a problem, but it does not just effect the fuel distributor and warm-up regulator, it can effect all the rubber hoses from the fuel tank forward. You need to check the hoses to see if they are getting soft and if they are, replace them because as the hoses deteriorate they send tiny pieces of rubber up to the fuel distributor and can then cause problems. Also replace your fuel filter regularly as filters don't like ethanol much either. All of our kits and reconditioned parts have the highest quality seals which are Ethanol compliant, but I try to avoid Ethanol as much as possible.

24.01.2022 I had someone ask, why do I need to use sealant in between the halves of a cast iron fuel distributor. When they were new Bosch did not seal them? You don't have to use any sealant, but the surfaces must be perfect. As most people don't take the time to reface the fuel distributor faces to perfection, they leak, so the easiest solution is to very carefully coat the faces with a sealant (I use Loctite 515). This way there is no fuel leak to outside the fuel distributor or internal leaks between cylinders. It's quick and easy and not at all messy, just takes away a point of potential failure.

22.01.2022 I received a fuel distributor today for reconditioning. Someone obviously had a 'try' to fix it themselves. But this is what can happen if you don't do it correctly.

22.01.2022 It is the little things that make a difference. This fuel cell failed as it would not hold pressure correctly. It needed to be surfaced until that mark was gone so it could function as it should.

22.01.2022 Continuing on with the chap with the trouble getting his KE fuel distributor apart. Following the instructions worked and he got it apart. But in knocking the barrel in he also pushed that little cap in the end of the barrel in. It should be about 5 to 6mm out of the barrel (photo). This is easily done by taking the spring out of the barrel and refitting the piston and then just gently tapping the piston until the cap comes out the correct amount. You measure to the flat sec...tion and not the 3 pimples. Again all went well. he has the fuel distributor back together and feels that he now has more power, but still a bad rough idle, which was one of the issues he was hoping to correct. So here is a quick guide on what to do Remove the injectors and set them into clean glasses or glass jars. Bridge the fuel pump relay. Press the air flap to check all the air is out of the system and all the injectors fired ok. Empty out the jars. Press the air flap down a couple of mm so that the injectors are spraying, holding the flap steady, are all the injectors "chattering" and atomising? After 30 seconds to 1 minute let the air flap go, now check the fuel volumes in each jar. Is it all equal? If a cylinder has more fuel, remove the adjuster plug for that cylinder and screw the adjuster in 1/4 turn and then redo the test and check the volumes. They should all be the same. BUT, if you have injectors that are just jetting or streaming, the fuel can't burn properly and that will also give a bad idle. So this test both checks the injector spray patterns and the fuel distributor volumes. Hope that this helps you all. See more

20.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone. Remember that this is the start of the rest of your life. You can choose to fly, or to wallow in the mud. I hope that you choose to fly, even when the circumstances want to suck you into the mud. Aim high to fly even if the turkeys want to talk you down, stay strong, look to your dreams and take a first step towards them, one at a time.

19.01.2022 This is one of our new Warm-Up Regulators, just have to make the new electrical plugs and bimetallic strips and every part will be 100% new

18.01.2022 A good morning. Picked up some more parts for stock!

15.01.2022 With the global corona pandemic there seems to be a large backlog of parcels globally and I am hearing of lots of delays. Even I am struggling to get items. Normally I send kits via DHL eCommerce, which, depending on where you are in the world takes 10 to 21 days but at the moment there are no guarantees of time frames. This postage costs AU$20.00 In order to guarantee fast parts delivery people are opting for DHL express. This service is normally a 2 or 3 day service to anywhere in the world, but at present even the express service is taking 5 to 7 days. This service costs AU$52.50

12.01.2022 Testing a PES8KL on the bench today, had a hairline crack visible, so we wanted to see how bad it is. Very bad!!!

10.01.2022 Very exciting news. Samples of our new WUR tops and fuel cells arrived today, almost have every part to build brand new Warm-Up Regulators, so it won't be long until we can supply almost any WUR brand new for a price just a fraction more than a reconditioned one.

10.01.2022 Received this email requesting help, and then is my answer. Hi Colin, I’ve just purchased a re-seal kit from you for my KE-Jet fuel distributor, and I’m struggling to get the two halves apart.... I’ve followed your instructions to the letter, heating the bottom of the distributor to 70C and tapping the barrel but to no avail. The barrel has gone in so far that the end of its thread are nearly flush with the base, and still it won’t budge. I’m worried that I may damage the barrel! I don’t want to butcher anything are there any other techniques you could suggest that might help? Hi ******, When it is hot, very carefully use a thin spanner, or such like, to go into the two recesses on the side and try and lever apart. Do NOT stick a screwdriver or chisel in there unless you are willing to spend quite some time with a piece of glass and 1,000 grit paper getting any marks out of the surface, which you will be doing anyway. The other alternative is to hold the top of the FD and at the corners of the bottom of the FD, hit it around to twist the base and break the seal between the 2 halves. Every so often I get one like this too. Just make sure that you don't rotate the base, if you go that route, too far as you can break the ceramic discs or damage the big springs if you go too far. You just need to break the seal and then you will get the halves apart. But most important before you assemble is to make sure the internal faces are perfect

06.01.2022 These are the types of messages I love to get Hi Colin, I want to thank you for your help in rebuilding my warm-up regulator. I got your kit and went through the full rebuild procedure fully resetting all the pressures etc. It worked great. I’d been fighting hot starting issues and also hot running probably due to the vacuum enrichment not working properly in the past. With the full rebuild I’m not getting the leak down I was earlier and I’m now getting the proper amount of vacuum enrichment/leaning so my mixture is right at idle and WOT. The car now starts well, runs like a scalded dog and doesn’t get as hot. Fantastic. Thank you! Chris

06.01.2022 Sometimes statistics can be interesting. Just reviewing 2020. Quite consistently over the months 13% of my sales are to Australian customers and 87% are international, with Germans & Americans being my biggest buyers.

05.01.2022 This is a Mercedes MFI pump we finished this week. Currently we are having quite a few parts electroplated so they will look even better in the future

03.01.2022 A couple of our new Warm-Up Regulators (WURs). Still working on a few of the parts, but we are close to be able to offer brand new parts. 0 438 140 140 & 0 438 140 089
