16.01.2022 Stable Update Shakey ' Ava Express ' is not far away from a return to his box after recovering from a foot abscess. He is absolutely thriving out in the green spelling paddocks at Toreby Park, and should be firing on all cylinders when he returns. Storm, our small but mighty Kendels Star filly, came to us a few months ago from Steve down at Rivercrest Park Stud, and was sent across to Dain Harrison at Harrison's Horse Handling to be broken. What a fabtastic job Dain done... with our hard headed girl. The patience and persistence he puts into every horse he is sent is second to none, and constant updates is all a stable can ask for. Couldn't thank him, or recommend him to anybody enough. After a few weeks of education and few broken fence panels she has now made her way back down to the green pastures of Rivercrest Park for a well earned break, and what better place for her to be spelling. Frank our little yearling colt arrived today for a few weeks of handling. Very good young man he was today, and after being introduced to the whippy little dogs, a ferocious stable pony, inquisitive sheep and 2 roosters that dont understand we only need 1 wake up call each day, he is finally settling into his box tonight and enjoying a well earned feed. Thankyou again to Steve Hoare for raising our young bloke to a weanling, and Donna and Greame Ballantyne for looking after him for the last few months. Hope everyone has been well through the tough times of late. Good luck to all, hope to see you at the races soon

15.01.2022 What a beautiful Sunday is was today, the weather in York was as good as it gets. Today Big Red ( Bali King Prawn ) took the trip to York and what an effort he put in. Beautifully ridden to instructions by Lisa Staples, to lead after getting out slowly, and only just being run down to finish just behind the winner in third place.... Not a very strong field, but it was good to see him finally put his head to the task. Very proud of Red today

15.01.2022 Ava Express heads south to Pinjarra this afternoon. He has come through his first up assignment well, and now takes a step down in class 2nd up over a mile. P.Harvey back on board from barrier 4, he should be nice and close to them in the run and finishing off well.... Good luck to all runners racing today and stay safe

13.01.2022 A somewhat disappointing long weekend after what has been a good couple of weeks for the stable. Big red ( Bali King Prawn ) went to Toodyay on Sunday and after fighting for the lead early got caught 3 deep up the hill and didnt enjoy it at all. Has pulled up well and may have 1 more crack for us in York next week before looking to move onto somewhere easier. Shakey ( Ava Express ) went up the hill to Northam for the public holiday meeting on Monday for his biggest task yet.... A small field with no tempo and giving away 3.5kg+ to the rest of the field, he got stuck having to lead but he stuck on very well only beaten 2 lengths. A step up in distance looks to be ideal. We hope everybody had a safe, and enjoyable long weekend

12.01.2022 We head to headquarters today with Shakey ( Ava Express ). Taking on his toughest opposition yet after a short freshen up, but he is still very well within himself and his work has been good. Boy Hill to swing his leg today, from a sticky draw, but if all goes to plan, we hope to be there at the business end. Good luck to everybody attending the races today and stay safe

11.01.2022 The boys are feeling very good with themselves heading into the long weekend of racing. Bali King Prawn will head to Toodyay on Sunday. Ava Express will be going around at either Northam or Belmont. But it's not all about the big boys, CoCo makes sure hes never forgotten, checking in to make sure the feeds are done properly, and better yet that his is done first.... We learnt our lesson about leaving his bucket in the shed. He found it.... And the hay bin!! Cheeky bugger definately makes sure everyone is paying attention. Safe travels to everyone heading to the races, and we hope to see you there.

10.01.2022 Although our page has been quiet for a while, our tough boy Shakey ( Ava Express ) has been far from it. On the 1/12/19 he once again broke his maiden status in nice fashion leading all the way. He then ran a gallant 4th at bunbury the following start.... After strong discussions throughout the team, contemplating to send him for a spell, we decided to give him another run, and what a great decision it turned out to be. Our boy proved us all wrong, and went on to win the stables first city race. The very gutsy son of Danehill Express battled out a tough victory with a worthy competitor on Wednesday 12/2 at headquarters. After pulling up as good as ever, we decided he deserved his chance to fly the flag on a Saturday. Once again he ran as tough as ever, and after one of the best, patient rides you will see from Paul Harvey, he ran down the leader and went past him. After a lot of head scratching and lots of experimenting early in his career, he is finally getting it all together, and showing it on race day. Well done Shakey and Team. Our only other fella in work, He's Stardust is coming along nicely after a very lengthy period in the paddock. He is going to take some time, and a lot of patience, but fingers crossed he can also put it all together. Thankyou to all our followers for being patient with us.
