16.01.2022 Data from Queensland’s ports shows that Queensland’s resources sector continues to break records, with 226 million tonnes of coal exported to customers across t...he world in FY19-20. We are please to announce that the Abbot Point Operations (APO) team contributed a total of 31.96 million tonnes of coal to Queensland’s recording-breaking throughput year with APO breaking their own loading record by a whopping 3.02 million tonnes. This tremendous result comes on the heels of the Queensland Department of Environment and Science monitoring progress report that showed no signs of environmental harm in the Caley Valley Wetlands - a welcome result for every one of APO’s 180 employees.

14.12.2021 With mining machinery usually being on the larger side, having innovative solutions that help increase efficiency with maintenance is always welcomed Engineers and mechanical supervisors at Thiess (a client of ours) helped design a lightweight version of a metal cleat that secures the rim to the truck. The original steel cleats weigh a whopping 31kg, making them tricky and more time consuming to fit. These nylon cleats only weigh 5.8kg, making them more efficient to fit.... Great work Thiess! The The University of Queensland (UQ) and Mitsubishi Development (MDP) have joined forces to create a new programme to help educate those wishing to go into the mining industry. Over the next three years, MDP will invest $750,000 into the programme, to help increase the expansion of education into the technology now available to the mining and engineering industry. ... 27.10.2021 Thor mining has been given $110,000 from the NT government to start the 1000m diamond project at their Molyhil Project. This grant is part of the Resourcing the Territory initiative, set up by the government to increase exploration drilling in areas of the Northern Territory that haven’t undergone extensive testing. The plan so far is to only drill down 270m below the surface, next to their existing put at the Molyhil tungsten-molybdenum copper site. 08.10.2021 Those of you that have a keen interest in the Copper mining industry will be excited by this latest update. The Copperhead porphyry project underway in Northern Queensland, owned by Rockfire Resources, has had a very promising discovery during their initial drilling. They have found multiple veins containing copper-bearing veins up to 2.5cm in width, experts have commented that this size and density of veins correlates with the site being above a substantial porphyry copp...er source. Results from the entire samples taken from two holes at varying depths of 359m 501m, this is promising news for the mining industry in Queensland.
