24.01.2022 Jaxyns 2nd Birthday today. Belle came for a visit. We blew up balloons for Jaxyns birthday and played with them. Throwing and catching them, kicking them into the air, it was so much fun.. Then we heard the rubbish truck and went outside to watch it collect our rubbish bin. We discussed that the yellow bin is for recycling and the red one is for rubbish.. ... Tamara and Evie, Willow and Frankie came for a visit and play.. They all played well together, taking turns of the trucks. Playing matching puzzles and building towers. Read some books - Wheels on the Bus, Buildings and Construction Site. We sang Happy Birthday to Jaxyn, we all got the share Jaxyns cake. We then headed outside, where they all wanted to play with Jemima Puddle Duck and Daffy.. They all had a go at feeding them and holding them.. We then let the ducklings have a splash in some water.. We all sat and watch carefully as they washed themselves..

24.01.2022 LEAF PRINTED DECORATIONS This is a little project we’ve been working on to make some new decorations for the tree. First we used cookie cutters to cut out shape...s from white air-dry clay (linked in my Amazon storefront in bio). We then pressed bits of cypress into the clay to make prints and used the blunt end of a skewer to make circle indentations to be like berries. The skewer was also useful to make a hole at the top so we can hang the decorations. Once the clay was dry we painted over the print carefully with a thin paintbrush and watercolour paint. This bit can be quite challenging- you need a steady hand. Mine found it easier to paint the ones that had a whole little branch printed than all the individual bits. Either way it’s great for fine motor skills to follow the patterns created by the print. Once dry we hung them up with a piece of ribbon. It might worth sealing them with a coat of Mod-Podge to keep them looking nice for longer.

24.01.2022 Well done to Quinn’s dad Ryan Mick.. Determination and drive..

23.01.2022 Nothing better then EKKA GAMES!! We had Lucky Ducks, Ball Shoot and Fill a Cup.. So much laughter was had.. There was so much competition between them.. Mr J took it to the next level with the ball shoot, he discovered if he used a cup he could put more balls down the shoot.. So clever.. Lucky ducks ending in like the bobbing for apples game, the children used their mouths to grab a LUCKY DUCK.. The children then played fill a cup without spilling it and walked from one spot to another. Whos ever was the fullest won.. EKKA GAMES ARE ALWAYS SO MUCH FUN!!!

23.01.2022 This week weve added TRAINS to our program.. The children helped me connect all the pieces of our train tracks together and set it up. Mr A and Mr J were super excited to get their trains on the tracks.. Learning to use gentle hands manoeuvring the trains on the tracks otherwise the tracks separated.

22.01.2022 After reading, the children started role playing in the kitchen.. Cooking up a storm and then Mr Q wanted to cut the velcro eggs and then everyone else joined in. So we set up the table with the matching Velcro eggs and plastic knives. Lots of concentration trying to use the knife to cut the eggs in half, then the excitement, when they had a matching pair.. Their facial expressions were very funny. I asked Mr Q what he was making, cause he was mixing thoroughly the broken e...ggs. He said pikelets. So we extended from here and made some pikelets for morning tea. The children all helped in this cooking process. Miss R poured the flour, Mr Q added the butter, Mr R added an egg, I tipped in some sugar and Mr J poured in the milk. They all then took turns at mixing the batter, then I poured into the pan and the children devoured them as soon as they were finished cooking. They had them with butter and golden syrup. DELICIOUS!!

Making friendships..

21.01.2022 Great week - Exploring Science Week!! The theme this year was Deep Blue - innovations for the future of our oceans We made sensory bottles, giving the children an understanding of putting too much rubbish into the ocean clogs it up.. We read stories about marine animals and how they can be looked after.. We also spent the day at the beach and watched how the ocean moved, the currents and waves.. We also found jelly items at the beach, which we extended and made our own jellyfish.. They loved running around with the jellyfish swaying in the wind.. The children enjoyed investigating all things to do with the ocean.. Their favourite object they liked to really explore was the seashells and how it sounds like the ocean..

19.01.2022 Lovely day out and about with my mum and the daycare children to Summerland Camel Farm in Harrisville.. Absolute beautiful day to be out in the country in all that fresh air.. We had morning tea and lunch under a big palm tree. The kids had a great experience, exploring the grounds and feeding the camels. Learning the camels names, collecting camel fur (EXT: homemade felt) but they didn’t like the fact, there was camel meat in the fridge to buy.. Lots and lots and lots of que...stions were asked.. We then headed to Queens Park to walk through the animal enclosure and to our surprise there sat a majestical eagle which is being cared for after being shot out of the sky.. Then over to the park for afternoon tea and play around.. Leighlan and Safiya collected branches, asking what could they make with these and Nanny G decided they should make ladders for the bird aviary.. (EXT: ladders tomorrow with wire and branches) We stopped to buy Icecreams and headed to drop Nanny G home where we sat out the back patio and enjoyed a cold Icecream before heading home..

18.01.2022 Our extended experience from our craft this morning was to make popcorn from the left over corn kernels.. The children helped by adding butter to our saucepan and then the corn kernels.. They sat at the table quietly, so we could listen to any sounds. Miss R says I can hear sizzling (which was the butter) and then after a little while we heard SIZZLE, POP, POP AND POP. The children all got excited hearing the new sounds of sizzling and popping.. I safely showed them popping in the saucepan.. Once finished I tipped the popcorn into a bowl and Miss R gently salted them. We all enjoyed some freshly cooked popcorn.. Miss R and Mr J loved it, but Mr Q wasnt to keen for it..

We had fun in the chook pen, we had our gumboots on and up we went to feed the scraps to the birds. Miss R, Mr Q and Mr J wanted to stay awhile and handle the ducklings. Miss R is getting really good at picking them up gently, shows me she has an understanding of caring for them. Mr Q and Mr J were happy to pat them from my lap. Miss R went to check for chicken eggs and Mr J wanted to go by himself to have a look and say hello to the chickens.. He was trying to count them all, like I do when I put them away, and was checking all their hiding spots..
