25.01.2022 Well, after a 3 week hiatus, I’ve recommenced full time activity on site. During this time I’ve been able to consult with industry insiders, subcontractors and (most importantly ) my wife, to come up with new protocols to continue to do what we do without compromising worker and public safety. Things will operate a little differently from now on, particularly with homeschooling being thrown into the mix (who would’ve thought I’d ever end up a part-time teacher?!), but I’m confident we’ll easily adapt. I hope everyone is staying safe, sane, and socially distanced !
24.01.2022 Here’s a sneaky little half-time pic of our monster house raise over in Camp Hill, to celebrate the installation of plasterboard which was completed today! Make no mistake, this home is going to be an absolute masterpiece when we’re done! #builderlyf
23.01.2022 **FLASHBACK FRIDAY** This one was a new house we completed in Mitchelton in 2018, that was done in a mix of classic and contemporary Queenslander style. I don’t often get new builds, but I do love them when they come along!!... #kkbuilder #builderlyf #newbuild #brisbanebuilder @ Mitchelton, Queensland, Australia
21.01.2022 So I finally had the absolute pleasure of handing over my greatest renovation to date yesterday! This one was a raise and build under in Camp Hill, done in a mix of Queenslander/Hampton style of finish. Myself and the team achieved an exceptionally high level of finish on this project, and I’m so proud of everything we produced here. Not only was the build itself awesome, but I had some of the nicest and easy to work with clients that I could ever hope for. Their faith in me... throughout the build, as well as their patience during the Covid uncertainty meant the world to me, and I couldn’t thank them enough for helping everything run so smoothly. Enjoy the pics!! #kk_licensedbuilder #buiderlyf #brisbanebuilder With too many people to mention, special thanks goes to William Twible and Warren Smith for their efforts in the carpentry department .
21.01.2022 Big pieces of stone require big pieces of machinery to move them! After we got this slab upstairs, we also lifted a 150kg stone bath up to the second storey!
21.01.2022 We finally kicked off our latest and greatest project today over at Kedron. Situated amongst the highly sought after Avenues, this old girl doesn’t look like much at the moment but will be another winning masterpiece under my belt when we’re done! Profiles are up and demolition is underway. This is one of my favourite parts of a build, where I get to immerse myself in the plans and the existing house, and really get a good visual of what we’re looking to achieve. Exciting times!! #kk_licensedbuilder #brisbanebuilder #builderlife #chippylife #buildersofbrisbane #buildersofinstagram #masterpiece
19.01.2022 July has been a very symbolic, albeit busy, month for myself and my business. On Monday 6/7, I started a fresh job close to home (my third project in that particular street!), which is exactly 5 years to the day that I started my first official job as a builder. July also saw me officially sign my largest project (by far!), which kicks off in October. To have already completed my record largest project and then go on to commence another record largest project in the one year ...feels absolutely amazing, and really reinforces that I’m doing everything right . It feels fantastic to finally get the most small businesses fail within 5 years monkey off my back in such an emphatic fashion. When I started this business with nothing more than $15k of my own money and a strong will to succeed, I honestly wasn’t really sure where I would end up, but to have achieved what I have in the time that I’ve done it in, really makes this builder proud . To this day I haven’t once advertised, nor come up with a company name, preferring to let both my work and my name speak for themselves! Here’s to many more beautiful builds to come! **Shoutout as always to the unsung hero of all things admin, my beautiful wife @cas_lee80 #kk_licensedbuilder #proudbuildermoment #builderlife #brisbanebuilder #hardworkpaysoff
19.01.2022 ** FLASHBACK FRIDAY!! ** This was a renovation/extension that we completed for some super lovely clients back in 2018, which returned some stunning results! The real hero of the build was the kitchen/dining/living area which was a beautiful combination of blackbutt timber floors, concrete island bench, white walls and ceilings, and a herringbone feature wall/splashback in the kitchen. Enjoy!!... #kk_licensedbuilder #brisbanebuilder #builderlife #blackbutt #concretebenchtop #herringbone #perfection @ Holland Park West
17.01.2022 In a general sign of sign of the times in the building industry where businesses seek to maximise output while minimising liability, once-noble trades are progressively being butchered into multiple sub-trades, where each individual task of that trade is contracted out to people who are skilled only in that one particular task. With regards to my first trade and passion (carpentry), this is something that has always bothered me, and something that I continue to resist. There... are certain aspects of my trade that I will never cede to the savages, and one of those aspects is floor-laying. I have always laid, and will continue to lay my own floors as long as I’m able to because I simply don’t trust these important finishing tasks in the hands of job-specific sub-contractors! This is a floor we laid just this week; #tallowwood #spottedgum #greyironbark #tight

14.01.2022 Like any profession, there are levels when it comes to building/carpentry and one of the more technical aspects of renovation work is seamlessly marrying new work into existing. The two pics below show our new roof over at the Camp Hill project. What they don’t show is the new trussed roof that we have perfectly blended into an old, sagging, hand-pitched roof on a pre-war Queenslander. No humps, no hollows. #perfection... #kkbuilder #builderlyf #chippylyf
13.01.2022 ***Some progress pics from our Kedron job*** As the days spent doing carpentry continue to dwindle in favour of days spent in my builder role, I find these early stages of getting a project out of the ground are becoming my favourite part of the job. There is so much thought that needs to go into this area, and full preparation is critical! The house is now raised and slid into position, block retaining walls are up and waterproofed, and @libertypoolsau has dug and formed th...e pool shell. Shoutout to the guys from @atlashouseremovers who did the raise for me. In my whole time in the industry, I have never seen a team of guys in any trade work as quickly and efficiently as Atlas, while still turning out an elite level product. Outstanding! #kk_licensedbuilder #brisbanebuiler #builderlife #houseraise #pool
13.01.2022 As the clock winds down on another year and a new decade emerges, we wish a very happy new year to everyone who has supported us along the way, as well as all of our clients, past, present and future, and hope everyone has a very safe and prosperous 2020!! Keiron & Cassie Kelly
10.01.2022 Just put the finishing pre-paint touches on this feature front fence at our Camp Hill project, with these beautiful decorative post caps! #pimpmyfence #kkbuilder #builderlyf @ Camp Hill
10.01.2022 So after some careful consideration and a lot of thought, I have made the decision today to voluntarily put my current building projects on hold due to the unfolding Covid-19 crisis. I made this decision primarily because I can no longer be confident that the safety of my subcontractors can be ensured, and that the greater community won’t be affected by possible virus transmission caused by large numbers of people on site working closely together. Nor can I ignore the risks o...f bringing this virus home to my family. I would like to specifically thank my wonderful clients (you know who you are) for their complete understanding of this decision, despite the great disappointment it has caused for them. For the near future, I will be self-isolating with my family and patiently waiting for the opportunity to bounce straight back into producing masterpieces as soon as practicable. Take care everybody, this thing will pass and things on the other side will be better and more prosperous than they ever have been. #builderlyf
09.01.2022 The signs are up on another project that we started just this week! This extension/renovation is only a couple of streets away from my house and is for a lovely family that I’ve been doing work for since I started out on my own over 4 years ago. We have a great little community here in Mount Gravatt East (facilitated in large part by our beloved local coffee shop Badminton Brew!), and I’m so happy to do great work in my local area!
09.01.2022 **FLASHBACK FRIDAY!!** At the time, this extension/renovation in Woolloongabba was my best achievement as a builder and carpenter. The level of detail that went into this project was just stunning, right down to the spiral staircase!! #kkbuilder #builderlyf #brisbanebuilder #candodetail #candoitall
07.01.2022 We finally got a slab down at our Camp Hill project today!! It’s been a long time coming, and myself and the boys are chomping at the bit to get some timber on site and start really sinking our teeth into this one!! ... #kkbuilder #builderlyf
06.01.2022 ** Flashback Friday!! ** This was a house raise in Kelvin Grive that we completed way back in 2016 when I was barely a year into my building business. It was a real character home, so required some extra special carpentry detail work. Luckily for me, I was already an awesome carpenter long before I started my builder’s role!!! #kk_licensedbuilder #builderlyf #chippylyf #brisbanebuilder #skills #details @ Kelvin Grove, Queensland
05.01.2022 Here is a little sneak peak of the new view from the front deck of our house raise in Camp Hill. As you can see, it’s going to be one spectacular spot for our clients to hang out in once we’re all done! Framing is well underway, and with a bit of luck we’ll have a roof on in about a month’s time. Apparently we’re doing a great job so far, as our super-friendly clients have been showering us with sweet treats each week . Luckily I was the only one on site today, so to the vi...ctor goes the spoils . #kkbuilder
04.01.2022 So I received the text message below along with the accompanying photos this week, completely out of the blue, from a valued client whose home we extended/renovated last year. It’s stuff like this that really gives me a great sense of satisfaction with what we do every day for our wonderful clients, and it fuels me to continue delivering the outstanding results that we’ve become accustomed to presenting! #KKBuilder... #builderlyf See more
