21.01.2022 This was a nice way to celebrate the summer solstice in Sydney last night. A ripper of a sunset over Sydney Harbour. This was an 11 shot panorama to capture this incredible sky.

20.01.2022 Having just arrived safely back in the country, we're now at home in our self-imposed 'solitary-confinement' for a couple of weeks. That means I get time to work on some pics I managed to take whilst we were away This was an incredibly memorable day as we rode horses around the entire Giza plateau with literally no other tourists in sight - they had all flown home due to Cairo airport closing the next day. There has to be some upside to all of this eh

20.01.2022 Two weekends ago the Galaxy came out to play so I packed the cameras and spent the whole night at Bombo, a couple of hours South of Sydney. No-one could have prepared me for this unbelievable sight as the sunrise started to happen when the galaxy was still high in the sky. Enjoy!

18.01.2022 We just returned from a tour of Egypt - it's amazing how the whole world changed within a week! That didn't stop me from getting the camera out so here are some shots from the Temples of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo and also Karnak Temple in Southern Egypt. Enjoy!

18.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know, the latest edition of the vlog has just gone live on YouTube. Link is below - enjoy!

18.01.2022 This was my first trip to the Canola fields in Cowra NSW and they sure delivered. The sheer amount of colour gets you wondering how on earth you're going to put the shot up without everyone thinking you played with the colour saturation slider..... Click on the image as it's best viewed full screen - but have your sunglasses at the ready

17.01.2022 Here's a link to the latest Vlog. This is Part 1 of an amazing day spent in spectacular Glencoe in Scotland. We actually arrived the day before and had to leave the day after as the whole world was going into lockdown - whew! Enjoy!

13.01.2022 Last weekend, we had a couple of days up in Port Stephens and managed to snap up a sunrise shot down the beach. When I walked down the beach at 5:30am, I was amazed to see six people all lined up in their sleeping bags out there on the sand - they saw the sunrise too (I may have accidentally woken them up, ha ha) Best viewed full screen Enjoy!

13.01.2022 The latest vlog just went up on YouTube. Check out the 'behind the scenes' of a sunrise shoot last weekend Enjoy!

12.01.2022 Now that we're home (and in 'solitary confinement'), here's the very first pic I took in Scotland when we went over for the weekend . The rock in the distance is called Bass Rock which is an ancient volcanic plug sitting in the Firth of Forth, not too far from Edinburgh. It has had quite a history, changing hands several times but now plays host to a colony of around 150,000 gannets. This shot was taken from the beach at North Berwick during a reverse sunset which didn't amo...unt to much. Click the pick for more details. Enjoy!

11.01.2022 The Milky Way came out to play the other night at Long Reef. It did observe some 'social distancing' though Click on the pic for more detail.

11.01.2022 Here's a pic from our visit to China late last year. Our friend here was about 86 yrs old if I remember correctly - and he was still sharp as a tack I hope he's still going ok over there! Click on the image for more detail.

11.01.2022 Here's a link to the latest Vlog in case anyone is interested to see it. There are a few tips and tricks on this one for anyone shooting in low light. Don't forget to give it a thumbs up if you watch on Youtube

10.01.2022 Here's a shot from a visit to Kurnell National Park in the wee hours of yesterday morning just as the sun was coming up. I actually didn't mind the couple sitting way over on the edge of the cliff as it provided some scale to the scene. Nice of them to hold still for the shot Best viewed full screen

10.01.2022 This is Black Rock Cottage from last week's vlog in Glencoe, Scotland. It was the first shot of the day during our visit last month. Gorgeous little place - even if it was only 3C that morning

06.01.2022 Happy New Year everyone! What an "epic" morning at Cathedral Rocks just South of Sydney this morning. The sky delivered the best sunrise we've seen for a while. Let's hope this is the first sign of a great year ahead This was the very first shot I took this morning (after running to the location from the car park when we saw the light!). Best viewed full screen

04.01.2022 This is the Red Pyramid of Dashur. The Red Pyramid is the fourth-highest of Egypt's pyramids and was allegedly built by Pharaoh Snefru (Pharaoh Khufu's father). It doesn't have any casings stones left on it but the underlying limestone has a reddish colour to it, hence the name. This pyramid stands about a kilometer north of the Bent Pyramid which is where I was standing when I took this shot. It's height is the same as the Bent Pyramid at 105m.... I loved how the pyramid seemed to appear out of the mist across the desert. As always, click on the image for more detail - enjoy!

04.01.2022 Just the other day, we went down to Turimetta Beach for a few sunrise pics. Here's the latest YouTube vlog - just click on the link below to see it

03.01.2022 Hi everyone, The 2020 - Shot Of The Year Vlog has just gone up on YouTube for those who have been following the vlog. 2020 has been a big year in terms of photography. Lockdowns and travel restrictions caused by a global pandemic, meant that you were forced to go and explore your own 'back yard' and we found some amazing places this year that we might have missed otherwise. ... This is a look back through 2020 and my pick of the bunch throughout the year - including my top of the list. Each shot comes with some background commentary so if you don't want to listen to me rabbit on, feel free to skip ahead! Just click the link below to go straight to the video - and don't forget to leave a 'thumbs up' in YouTube as it helps out the channel

03.01.2022 I hope everyone is gearing up for a fabulous weekend...... We've got quite a lot of walls to stare at and although we don't have any grass to watch grow, I was thinking about doing some painting so I can watch it dry...... Meanwhile, here's a pic from the latest Vlog. This one was taken at Lake Buttermere in the Lake District in the UK. Conditions weren't too bad considering it was near the middle of the day. More coming soon.....

03.01.2022 Here's a shot from this week's vlog posted earlier. This mountain is called Buachaille Etive Mor in Glencoe and is probably one of the most photographed mountains in Scotland due to it's 'pyramid' shape. I shot quite a few pyramids on that trip . Click on the image for more detail - enjoy!

02.01.2022 Hi everyone. Here's a link to the latest vlog all the way from up at Catherine Hill Bay Pier on the Northern end of the Central Coast. Enjoy!

01.01.2022 I got up super-early yesterday and headed up to the Central Coast - only to be rewarded with the most amazing sunrise. Click the pic for more detail.

01.01.2022 Just recently, we took a bit of a journey to Macquarie Pass National Park to find this amazing little waterfall. Here's a link to the latest YouTube vlog if you want to tune in and see it. Yes, this one includes the famous 'blooper' so be sure to watch to the the end of the video
