Traditionally used in Chinese medicine since the 10th Century, the roots of the peony hide an incredibly soothing natural ingredient - paeoniflorin. Our peonies are grown in the Chinese provinces of Shaanxi & Gansu, following traditional methods which respect the natural ecosystem. It is farmed by a local network of small producers with no fertilisation or irrigation, and then the roots are collected by hand in October after about 4 years of growth.
