25.01.2022 I was recently asked what my thoughts were in regards to using TikTok for marketing. It really depends on who you are trying to target. TikTok's largest user demographic is 15-25 year olds, so if your customer base is in that target market, I'd say go for it. Keep in mind you will have to spend a lot of time making videos and putting them up regularly. Plus the videos are relatively short, so you'd need to get your mesage across fairly quickly (in under a minute). Effectively, I'm not 100% convinced that the effort would be worth it to be honest. As for anyone else, I think the app is a lot of fun, but as a marketing tool I'd give it a miss and concentrate on Instagram, Facebook, your website and keeping your listings up to date on industry relevant search pages like Google, Tripadvisor, Zomato etc. . What do you think?

24.01.2022 Good morning! How long is your to do list for today or this week? Overwhelming? Unfortunately, being overwhelmed with the amount of tasks we need to or or think we need to do can lead of procrastination. So how do we stop ourselves from drifting over to the "faffing about instead of doing the task at hand" dark side? 1. Get organised. Have everything you need at hand, so you don't waste time looking for things. Write a list of tasks from urgent to 'can do later'. . 2. Set ti...me limits and a deadline. Allocate blocks of time to tasks and make sure you have a deadline = gets the job done in a timely manner. . 3. Do small tasks and work up to a big task. If a big task seems overwhelming or you have a mental block, start with something small, like emails, and work up to the big task. It's surprising how a small task can switch your mindset to do the bigger task. . 4. Remove distractions. How many times have you gone to have a quick look on social media and ended up on it for an hour? Put the phone away! . 5. Take breaks. No onr wants to be chained to their desk for hours on end. And it's bad for our mental health too. Maybe go for a walk at lunchtime instead of eating your lunch at your desk. . 6. Outsource or ask for help. Honestly, you can't juggle everything and it's best to focus on what you need to do in your business. Outsource things like marketing and bookkeeping to those in the know (like us!) . 7. Set the mood with a kickarse song/s. A motivating song or songs can set the mood for the entire day. Mine is "Whatcha waiting for?" by Gwen Stefani. What's yours? . 8. Ditch the perfectionist and fear. You know those nagging thoughts in your head telling you that your work isn't good enough? Well, it lies! You wouldn't have got to where you are, if your work is as bad as your head tells you it is. Tell it to rack off. . 9. Single task. No matter how great you think you are ar multitasking, it's not effective. Getting one job done at a time properly is a more efficient use of time. . 10. Change your environment. Being at the same desk can become boring and mundane. Head to a local cafe, co working space or even a local park to get some fresh perspective. See more

24.01.2022 Nothing happens unless you decide to take action on it. Strategy, lists and goals are all good in theory but you have to do something with them to succeed in business.

20.01.2022 Goodbye 2019, Hello 2020! Happy New Year What are your business goals for 2020?

05.01.2022 As a regular peruser on social media (because, obviously, it's my job ), I have seen so many businesses get their imagery wrong. Blurry, low quality pictures, taken with your 5 year old mobile phone in a low lit area, does nothing for your branding and actually screams unprofessional. Social media is only as effective at getting your business seen in the 3 seconds it takes to scroll past your picture in a feed. As the quote says "A picture tells a thousand words" and you n...eed "the" image to make your potential customers stop scrolling and read your caption, or you've lost that opportunity forever. . If you're going to take images yourself, make sure you have good lighting, the product/ featured item is displayed clearly and you use a good quality camera or mobile phone camera (some of the latest phone cameras are nearly as good as DSLR cameras). Don't use the same images regularly and vary your content. No one wants to see similarly styled food shots or the same model in every image in your feed. . Obviously, if you would prefer someone professional to do your images, we are quite happy to assist with styling and photography and of course, plan your content. You just have to ask!
