16.01.2022 NAIDOC Week has always been very special to me. As a little girl some of my favourite memories were helping my mum set up and prepare for NAIDOC celebrations at many different schools. I would sit and learn from the special guests... the weavers, the dancers, the artists, my elders and soak up every ounce of knowledge I could. I wish that I knew the songs and dances of my Kamilaroi and Bigambul ancestors to pass along to my children and their children’s children. It makes me... terribly sad that all of those special things were lost to my family. But that’s why NAIDOC is so important... to share, learn and listen to the history. The culture. The traditions. These nails were inspired by @miimiandjiinda I am so drawn to their beautiful paintings and the stories they tell. It’s on my bucket list to own an original one day Happy NAIDOC Week
