05.01.2022 The CEO of Spotify is worth 2.5 billion. Meanwhile, all the artists are paid next to nothing, and everybody from Tool to Coldplay, to Taylor Swift has gone to w...ar with Spotify over their unfair treatment of artists. Pink Floyd said this about Spotify, those services (Spotify and other streaming services) should fairly pay the artists and creators who make the music at the core of their businesses. For almost all working musicians, it's also a question of economic survival." The Black Keys has a great one, "if somebody’s making money then the artist should be getting a fair cut of it. The owner of Spotify is worth something like $3 billion... he’s richer than Paul McCartney and he’s 30, and he’s never written a song. Beck said, What Spotify pays me is not even enough to pay the musicians playing with me or the people working on the discs, It's not working. Something is going to have to give." (Beck won a Grammy this year, by the way.) Thom York from Radio Head said, I feel like as musicians we need to fight the Spotify thing. I feel that in some ways what's happening in the mainstream is the last gasp of the old industry. Once that does finally die, which it will, something else will happen. Pete Townsend from The Who said I think the guy that runs it is a f*cking crook.

05.01.2022 Face to face at last.

03.01.2022 {Join us for our LAST Friday Night Live music event tonight and we’re going out with a bang with The Tosti brothers (including a founding member of Hunters an...d Collectors)!} Tonight at 7pm, we have the wonderful The Tosti Brothers, AKA Modog's, who have developed and grown in popularity since early 2000. Influenced by the community, culture, and sounds of their younger days, they perform music that speaks to people across the musical spectrum. In their cover band shows they have become synonymous with a diverse collection of crowd-pleasing songs spanning decades, anything from The Beatles to Amy Winehouse. Ray Tosti - Vocals, Guitarist & Songwriter Ray is the lead vocalist & guitarist for the Tosti Brothers. He began his career singing in high school bands, working his way up to join The Jetsonnes which led to him being a founding member of Hunters & Collectors for which he was inducted into the Aria hall of fame, one of the highest accolades in the Australian Music Industry. Tony Tosti - Bass, Piano & Songwriter Tony, like his brother Ray, began playing at an early age, joining his first band while still in Primary School. In his teen years Tony took an interest in song writing and audio engineering. This led him to the recording studio where he got to work with many of Australia's finest musicians and actors including John Farnham and his band, Kate Ceberano, Jack Jones, Chong Lim and more. So what are you waiting for?! Set your alarm for 7pm tonight, grab a drink or two, tune in to the Kew Junction Facebook Page for the final time and turn it up! We hope to see you :-)

02.01.2022 Having fun with a classic Chisel song. I think Tony is going lockdown crazy.
