11.01.2022 Mould growth in the internal barriers of party wall systems is a serious problem for builders. It results in costly delays as builders wait for the boards to dry out, and mould removal adds to the cost of the project. A NSW builder recently put Knauf's InterShield to the test onsite. InterShield was used on one site, and another non-mould resistant board on another. Despite the jobs being in extremely close proximity to each other and weather patterns, delivery, construction times and conditions being consistent, there was no evidence of mould on Knauf’s Intershield, but significant visible mould growth was present on the intertenancy walls at the other sites! 07.01.2022 Knauf Australia’s Technical Services Manager Ben Wright was recently busy packing his car, when his four year old son took an interest in the Knauf safety bag with Ben’s PPE gear. The inquisitive youngster wanted to know what safety gear is, and why we need it. It was a good opportunity to tell him about what we can do to protect ourselves while at work or home, and also why we take safety seriously. As I was showing him the PPE gear, he was very intrigued. And naturally he wanted to try it on! Ben said. It just goes to show that we all have a safety responsibility, whether it’s our own safety, the safety of work colleagues or our families - no matter how old or young they are. We should pass on to others the lessons we have learnt about safety to raise awareness and possibly reduce the chance of others being harmed.
