I studied a 3 year Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage/ Myotherapy in 2009. The past 8 years I have worked in this position at clinics, football clubs and spas. As a Remedial Therapist/Myotherapist I provides evidence-based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for a wide range of musculoskeletal pain and associated conditions, such as back, neck and shoulder pain, headaches, sports injury, rotator cuff problems, sciatica and much more. Treatment involves deep tissue massage, trigger point release, cupping, stretching and strengthening exercises and hot and cold modalities. TREATMENTS Remedial Massage (Private Health Insurance Rebate available) 90mins $130 60mins $85 45mins $70 30mins $55 Deep Tissue 90mins $115 60mins $75 45mins $60 30mins $45 Cupping- Available at no extra cost with any massage or $30 on its own. About Cupping Cupping is the method of creating a suction via cup and pump to the clients skin to dispel stagnated blood. This brings stagnated blood to the surface away from the injury so that healthy circulation can be restore to the affected area, causing an anti inflammatory affect. Usually cups are left on between 5-15mins depending of the severity of the area. They can be used by a gliding technique along the skin creating myofascial release or simply placed on affected area without movement.. Cupping can be used in conjunction with dry needling, acupuncture and massage to help treat pain, scar tissue, muscle tightness/knots and increase mobility and function. Cupping is also known to be used to help people with colds and flu. The bruising which you see in cupping is a result of internal unwanted toxins pulled to the skin. The colour will range from a Pink to dark purple. The more purple the more stagnant the blood. Bruising can last anywhere from a few days to few weeks.
