24.01.2022 Hi All, It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that Hendos dad David passed away last weekend. As we all know Nic has been a member of the club for many years and has stepped onto the committee this upcoming season to help out. ... On behalf of the CNCC I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Nic and his family during these difficult times. You are all in our thoughts. I know some have already been in contact with Hendo and he asked me to pass on his thanks. Rest In Peace David

23.01.2022 Hello CNCC families, Our Committee have been doing some work on Vision & Values for the club and needs your help! This might be an exercise that some parents involve their kids or do themselves and is a great self awareness tool - identify what values are important to you.... We would ideally like you to select 4-6 values and email them to myself or: [email protected] Your values could be "family", "community", "respect" or "victory"... its up to you. By doing this it gives us a larger snapshot of how you - the players and parents see the club and to make sure the values are something you believe in. If you are having trouble selecting values I have a list of 200 I can email you. This is such an important exercise and I ask that if it can be done as soon as possible. Hope youre staying well. Thanks in advance Regards Ryan Sleeman

20.01.2022 Over the next few weeks we will look back at the past decades statistics thanks to our stats man Saccas. Starting off we look at the most amount of runs scored in the first XI from 2010-11 to 2019-20. Its no surprise captain coach Shane Findlay and Chris Noy leads the way after a number of dominate seasons. The ever consistent Karnel Ahmet and Mark Sacristani have also been very reliable with the bat over the years.

16.01.2022 Today is R U OK day Never underestimate the difference you can make with these 3 words. Two of our values are Community and Family.... We pride ourselves on being a tight club whether its in battle on the field or off the field. You have your mates back on the field and off. 2020 has been a real challenging year for all, with many out of work and stuck at home. Perhaps theres never been a better time to pick up a phone and ring. It could be most outgoing mate whose full of laughter struggling, it could be the quietest, or it could you be you. Reach out to your mates and if your struggling yourself reach out, put your hand up. As the great Danny Frawley once said Manning up in the pass was to suffer in silence, Manning up today is to put your hand up If anyone needs a chat, please feel free to give Sleemo or Obee a call President Ryan Sleeman 0437 408 887 Committee member Luke OBrien 0478 549 189

16.01.2022 Great decision by the RDCA deciding to push all finals games to Sunday, we’re obviously bias but being able to get full games of cricket in is always the best option!! Reminder our AA side has its Grand Final tomorrow as well, so if we can get plenty of support at both games as both sides hopefully bring home two wins!! Go Knights!!!

16.01.2022 A massive congratulations to our All Abilities side taking out the MAACA premiership yesterday against Williamstown The Knights kept Williamstown to 9/138 off their 30 overs thanks to some handy bowling from Daynah Hopkins 2/13 and Matt Dalboni 2/16 The boys then chased it down 5 wickets down with 2 overs to spare. 15.01.2022 We now recall some of the finest partnerships over the decade. The highest partnership was 170* by sugar and pommy import cappy when we defeated St. Andrews by 10 wickets early in the year. However, the partnerships that stick out ones that happen in big finals games. Sugars and Leigh Cuffe peartnership both making 114 and 75 respectively in an elimination final against Sth Warrandyte in 2019, as well as Saccas and Sugars 7th wicket partnership in an prelim final against Scoresby allowed the 1st XI to post 275 in which sugar carried his bat making 160* are both remembered fondly. Saccas ability to bat well with the tale has seen him get us out of some sticky situations particularly the 10th wicket partnership with Gary Carolan against Nth Ringwood. This got the boys to 165 in which we won by 6 runs the next week. #goknights

15.01.2022 **Message from the Coach** Hi Knights Family, I hope everyone is keeping well and safe during these interesting times, personally this break post season has allowed those niggles to heal and really raise my excitement levels about the coming season, I cant wait to get back and have a hit in the nets!... Obviously, were heading towards a pre-season and season full of unknowns, will we be able to even do a pre-season? Will the season start on time and how will the season look? These and many more questions are the challenges cricket associations and clubs will be facing in the coming months. Clubs will also face off field challenges, financial uncertainties for players may see them unable to pay fees, these uncertainties may also have an effect on businesses and may see clubs loose sponsors, which we all know are so important to help a club run financially. No international flights may see clubs unable to bring in overseas players, the list of challenges goes on. In preparing for this upcoming season, we will be taking a business as usual approach. We will be planning for pre-season to start first week in August and the season to start first week in October. And if it doesnt... we will adapt. Its like waking up on a Saturday morning and hearing rain on the roof, you dont go ah well no cricket today and go back to sleep, you prepare to play no matter what, and thats the attitude we have. Through great adversity and challenges come greater opportunities, while weve been locked up at home I hope this has given us all a great appreciation for the lives we had only a few months ago. Lets continue to support each other, we will get through this and well be enjoying each others company down the club on a warm Saturday night in no time!!! GO KNIGHTS!!! Shane Findlay

14.01.2022 **T20 Tuesday Night** On Tuesday night the Knights will take on St Andrew’s CC at Hughes Park in its first game of the T20 competition. 12.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS. Hi All, As part of our return to training plan there will be some stuff sent out over the next week you will need to read before we return to play or train.... The RDCA in partnership with 1Breadcrumb which is a QR check in app. There are other QR code’s out there, but what is great about this one is: It is used on current commercial building sites and was part of rugby NSW return to play policy It has a tool called Geofencing which once a person has logged in manually the first time it will recognise the user automatically and check you in and out once you get with in a 150m radius of Hughes Park/ Barngenong Reserve. This saves us lining up and scanning QR code’s. I need all players to download the app and follow the 3 step process I am about to upload. Any questions please email me [email protected] so I can respond. This is a unbelievably busy time for the club and being Covid officer/president there has never been a busier time so all questions in writing so I don’t miss anything. Thanks Sleemo

08.01.2022 The knights were finally back in action on Saturday taking away 2 wins out 4 The ones help their nerve to win by 3 runs in the last over thanks to some great death bowling by all the bowlers particularly Archie and Obee. 01.01.2022 After a bit of controversy within the RDCA ranks, there has been a change in the K grade league batting Average, Vice President Josh Wombat Wilson won it originally with an average of 236. Although Wombat played 6 games the law states you must bat 6 times whereas Wombat only batted in 3 innings. So therefore it now goes to another Knight. He was stiff in the first place to not win it with an average of 174.5 with 349 runs so congratulations to another of the 4ths finest Grant Morgan!!

01.01.2022 I am pleased to announce the club will be entering a team in the Melbourne All Abilities Cricket Association for the first time in season 20/21. The first significant step towards making our club truly inclusive, and further strengthens our strong relationship with the local community. The club wishes to welcome all those new players who will represent our club this season. ... Special mention also goes to coach Nick Henderson for his work in bringing the team together. We look forward to following the progress of the team throughout the season. GO, KNIGHTS!

01.01.2022 From big scores and partnerships comes the other unwanted statistic in batting. Making a duck is up there with one of the worst feelings in cricket but not every Saturday can be filled with big runs. The Ahmet brothers are right up there in the duck club despite both being terrific batsman. True fact Chris Noys last club championship and 1st XI batting average also saw him take out the duck award #GoKnights

01.01.2022 Can you spot the Knights up and coming junior coach in the latest video from Cricket Australia?
